Firstly, let's address the technical aspects. While WCTV endeavors to provide a service to the community, the incessant barrage of irrelevant KZbin advertisements throughout the broadcast was not only distracting but disrespectful to the viewers who tuned in seeking important community updates. It's understandable that WCTV utilizes KZbin's platform, but the lack of control over the intrusive ads reflects poorly on the professionalism of the broadcast. Moving on to the substance of the meeting itself, it was a dismal display of bureaucratic incompetence and disinterest in addressing real community concerns. The Wolfeboro Police Commission, tasked with overseeing law enforcement in the town, seemed more concerned with maintaining the status quo than actually engaging with the pressing issues facing the community. Throughout the meeting, there was a palpable lack of transparency and accountability. Important questions from residents were either brushed aside or met with vague, non-committal responses. It was abundantly clear that the Commission had no intention of genuinely engaging with the public or addressing their concerns in a meaningful way. Furthermore, the absence of closed captioning provided by Wolfeboro Community Television is unacceptable, especially considering the diverse needs of the community. While KZbin may offer auto-generated closed captioning, the accuracy of such captions cannot be guaranteed, leaving members of the community who rely on this service at a significant disadvantage. The Police Commission Meeting was a prime example of bureaucratic stagnation and disregard for the community it purportedly serves. From technical shortcomings to a lack of transparency and accountability, the meeting fell far short of what the residents of Wolfeboro deserve from their local governance. It's high time for the Commission to step up, listen to the concerns of the community, and take meaningful action to address them.

I run the trail often when I am at the family cottage in Wakefield. I used to bring my parents there when they were in their late 80s because they loved walking it. They'd go from Wolfeboro Depot to Mast Landing and back while I was out running. Unfortunately, they've both passed on now, but I can still feel their presence out there when I run it. In 2021, I ran the Boston Marathon virtually on the Cotton Valley Rail Trail. Started at Cotton Valley and ran to Sanbornville and back. Stopped quickly to swap bottles and ran out to Albee Beach where I did a side trip to The Nick for a couple miles on the track, and then back to Albee Beach and then into Wolfeboro Depot and back to Cotton Valley. It is an awesome place to run. It's part of the reason that I send a donation to support the trail every year. I hope everyone does, because if we all give a little, we can do a lot. Thank you for all you folks do!
