I struggle with detangling my hair like this because my hair dries so fast. It holds water a bit more now than it did at the beginning of the year (before I completely cut out oils and butters), but it dries so fast that I feel like I'm racing against the clock when styling with gel.

It’s definitely a process of patience! Allowing our hair to revert back to what it needs. Similar to when we lose weight. Unfortunately it doesn’t happen right away. You will get there though!

I tried the method - I’m not sure if my hair is very damaged or what - but I just got a cut … Anyways I have higher porosity- and noticed I need a single gel - like curl smith in shower gel. However my hair appears dry. I’ll have to try less UFD - and this gel for next wash day. It seems like that’s possible where you get your shine :). You have Gorgeous hair! Is there a stronger hold botanical gel that also gives shine?
@STP255 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s 4a because when your hair is wet there the true form of your curl. Same as it is captured when you add the gel. :) - 4c is tightly coiled that it almost doesn’t appear to have a curl… or so from what I’ve seen. Eco styler had my curls pop to 3c/4a - can’t wait to get my hair detoxed and hydrated for health! Andrey walkers 2a - 4b terminology never works - as he excluded so many 3cs, 4cs and all in between Love love love your videos!!!!

I think she is saying her hair transformed from 4c to 4a after properly hydrating her hair. Or maybe she’s saying she has both textures and that the hair is versatile when properly hydrated

So for me I have always loved washing my hair. It never bothered me that it took so long! I’m not on a time restraint and I don’t hate doing it so I don’t worry about rushing through it. Sometimes it takes me two hours even though I’ve been doing this for years! I enjoy the process. It’s not a race for me 😊 With that being said if I really needed to I could work it take less than an hour. But that isn’t necessary. Oh my goodness! I remember six years ago I went to a natural hair show in Atlanta and Tre Lux at the time was such a tiny little company and not really heard of. At the time I was using Camille rose naturals and even a little bit of Shea moisture and homemade products but I saw their booth at the show and mainly what drew me to them was the amazing smell of the products. Let me tell you that after using their products for the first time I was absolutely blown away! That’s the first time my curls ever clumped and actually STAYED clumped and didn’t swell even though I was living in the Florida humidity! Their products are amazing. A little goes a long way so make sure you use a small amount of product and a lot of water to avoid flaking after it dries. I highly recommend them and I think I’m gonna try them out again soon 😍

That works too! Or even take a blow dryer and try to stretch out the roots of your hair a little

When you shower, without wetting your hair, the humidity in the shower will naturally refresh your hair because of the humectant gels. They draw moisture from the environment

Do you feel like the Dyson is worth the money?
@shalahboballa2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m so sorry I thought I already responded to this. The Dyson is a really nice dryer and I do notice that it cuts down on drying time for my hair. However I don’t think it is as good at giving me MY desired results as a hooded dryer is. If I was spending money I would rather get a nice hooded dryer.

I loveee this tutorial! Your hair looks great😍😍 Do you have any other product recommendations to replace the two gels that you used here? I'm not able to get those where I live
@shalahboballa2 жыл бұрын
More importantly than the company, is the purpose of the gels. The first gel is a gel that is a humectant that will attract water into the hair. The second gel will keep the water there by creating a hard cast. So if you can find gels that are botanical with those particular purposes in mind, that will help you. If you need more help please DM me at my Instagram page @this_girls_curls 🙂

Great video! I see my issue is patience. I rush thru my dense hair way too fast and end up with frizzy and puffy roots. I like your technique of using clips as you go along. I may try again soon.
@shalahboballa2 жыл бұрын
Yes! If your hair is dense it’s definitely best to go through it in smaller sections. That way you can define each section properly to get the best results. It takes a little extra time at first, but once you get used to it you’ll be able to fly through. I can define my entire head within 15 minutes or less because I know what sections take the longest and which ones I need to focus more and or less on 🙂
