Enough of this bs with the stop through punches. No one punches like that for real. It’s much faster. And exactly why tma practitioners get their ass kicked. They don’t train realistically.

I appreciate the comment. gives me the opportunity to explain something that most Kenpoist cannot. A lot of people including most kenpoist believe that the "Self Defense" Techniques are what we use to 'Fight". this is not the case. the Kenpo self defense techniques are used to teach proper positioning, power generation, targeting and how to chain individual moves together. I whole heartedly agree with you that the movements in the video would not work exactly according to the way it is displayed. think of the kenpo techniques in the same way a boxer / kickboxer uses focus mitts for training. as someone who has competed in 10 mixed martial arts fights and had the opportunity to train with some outstanding mma competitors 100% i would not try and " Kenpo" someone once the fight has started. i will use kickboxing and clinch work to immobilize the attacker. the reason i teach Kenpo is as a defense against sucker punches, grabs, pushes and other unorthodox attacks. but after the initial contact i go into kickbox distance. i run a small karate school in my area as a way to help my low income families. a lot of people do not want to put their kids in what they would consider a MMA academy because in their mind its to violent (i do not believe this). i teach them kickboxing combinations within our sparring classes. i really do appreciate the comment even though it was a bit negative. i hope my explanation made sense? i hope you have a great day and please use your Martial arts ability to inspire the community you live in. have a blessed day.

Always baffled that real Asian karate guys can make that awesome pop cause they genuinely snap their techniques. Kenpo guys always slap their chest with their guard hand to make a fake pop. Had a few kenpo "Grandmasters" try to explain the physics. But it still seems like useless garbage. Love kenpo techniques. Hate many of the habits of the practioners. I'd rather have my techniques felt and not heard from across the room by witnesses. "The dude pushed the potbelly guy. I then heard what sounded like 3-6 gun shot sounds as the pot belly guy waved his hands. It was crazy. He must of hit him at 6-7 times". No, nope pass. No thank you🙏

The constant yelling through the technique makes no sense and is counter productive. It actually works against you.

@@Chinesekenpokaratealliance thanks for the response. A few things, if you're yelling like that, your jaw isn't shut, which, if you get caught with a punch, leaves you much more vulnerable to a broken jaw or broken teeth. Vic also grunted through his techniques but he always kept his jaw closed . Also, expelling air at that rate, a punch to the stomach will result in all the air getting knocked out of you. There is a reason fighters only expel air in short bursts when they fight. Part of it is breath control and part is to avoid the air getting knocked out of them on a counter. People don't think they will get winded in a street fight, but even if it only lasts less than a minute, people are usually very winded because of the adrenaline dump. Lastly, as a retired police officer, I can tell you most witnesses stink. They often don't get the story of what actually happened correct. The one thing they will remember though is you yelling as you beat up the guy who just attacked you. Anyway, thanks for listening, best of luck.
