This is insane! Some of these towns sound straight out of a horror movie. Can’t imagine what it’s like to live in a place with such a crazy reputation. The warning labels definitely make sense!

Mentions Grand Rapids- shows the downtown Detroit and Belle isle/ renaissance center towers. Lol BTW Detroit and suburbs are the best place in the usa! The Paris of the Midwest. Motown-motor city. Beautiful in downtown Detroit and very safe.

You left out Oregon. They are a Trash State as well. They have SO MUCH HOMELESSNESS & so many people in Oregon DO NOT CARE AT ALL about those who are homeless. Not even for those that have no fault for living out on the Streets. Aside that! They have long outlawed stuff that is important to have & made into law to do stuff that is DEAD WRONG.

My friends, if you're looking for a city with affordability, a youthful vibe, a unique blend of culture, outdoor activities, a vibrant music scene, fabulous restaurants, a spirit of entrepreneurship, craft breweries, local festivals, ample parks, and (did I leave anything out) . . . look no farther than Asheville. I mean Grand Rapids. Er, Fayetteville, No, Boise, I mean Pittsburgh. Maybe Knoxville, or Durham, or Madison, or Lubbock, or St. Petersburg. In fact, they all have precisely the same qualities! It's what makes them unique!
@silasbishop30554 күн бұрын
Saint Petersburg & Saint Pete Beach are not the same city. Saint Pete is not all that affordable unless you live in the ghetto.

Announces Durham and the proceeds to show Charlotte and Chapel Hill. Then they show yet another aerial of a city that I don't even recognize. Then they pivot to Raleigh: Durham's neighbor to its immediate west. They finally end with a night aerial that also doesn't look like Durham. SMDH.

@@globalquesters Just read your answer to pieceodapie above. I agree - you're ai or if you're not you should become ai. Do you even understand the meaning of unique? Every city is lauded for the same qualities. The choices aren't bad but the descriptions are unbearably repetitive.

You are the first and only person on you tube that I have found in regards to struggling cities in America and I that you so much for what you do. I lived years in a small town in the trinity alps in far north CA. We had 340 people left in town which was much larger years ago during the lumber years (long gone) Any way my job was to recreate new jobs as well as new training to bring hope back to our community, The people were so kind and everyone worked together, Unfortunately after a few years my mother was struggling with cancer and loneliness so my daughter moved back east to care for her but I will never forget as long as I live how wonderful it felt to be a part of the fight. Thank you for bringing that time to me.

I’m from Fayetteville Arkansas, and while all of the words are true, a good portion of the footage looks like it’s probably from Little Rock. There aren’t any high-rise buildings in Fayetteville, and I know that bridge in the footage is in Little Rock as I used to cross it every weekend.

I always heard Oklahoma was super affordable for land purchases.
@globalquesters4 күн бұрын
Yes, Oklahoma often comes up in conversations about affordable land purchases. Its combination of low cost per acre, relatively low property taxes, and a business-friendly environment makes it attractive to both investors and individuals looking to build homes, farms, or recreational properties. The state's central location and diverse landscapes, ranging from plains to wooded areas, offer plenty of options. However, affordability can vary depending on factors like proximity to cities such as Tulsa and Oklahoma City. What are your thoughts on what makes a state ideal for land purchases? Are you more focused on cost, location, or potential for future value?
@joelhunton71085 күн бұрын
This was all planned. Bill Clinton knew what would happen when he signed the GATT and NAFTA trade agreements in 1992. What did we get in exchange for exporting the manufacturing base to China - bubble economies, an explosion in drug use/addiction in both urban and rural communities plus bigger government and more wars.
@globalquesters4 күн бұрын
It's true that many people believe trade agreements like GATT and NAFTA played a significant role in reshaping the U.S. economy by accelerating the decline of manufacturing in certain regions. Cities that once thrived on industrial jobs, particularly in the Midwest and Rust Belt, faced devastating economic consequences as factories closed and jobs were outsourced overseas. This led to long-term unemployment, population decline, and other social challenges, including the rise of opioid addiction and increased dependency on government support. On the other hand, proponents of these trade policies argue they created global trade opportunities and lowered consumer prices. What’s your perspective on this? Do you think different trade policies could have preserved more manufacturing jobs, or was this shift inevitable with globalization and technological advancements? What steps do you think cities should take now to reinvent themselves for the future?

It’s great that you’ve explored so many places! Nashville is definitely a vibrant city with a lot of charm, but it’s interesting how some of these lesser-known spots can offer unique benefits, like lower cost of living, smaller crowds, or hidden cultural gems. Which of the cities on this list do you think would surprise you the most? Are you drawn to places with outdoor adventures, strong job markets, or maybe just a slower pace of life? I’d love to hear which ones you’re adding to your travel or relocation list!

It’s a powerful reflection to think about how centuries of history can seem left behind as cities decline. Many places on this list were once vibrant centers of industry and culture, but shifts in the economy, technology, and population have left them struggling to adapt. Do you think these cities have any hope for revitalization, or are there too many structural challenges to overcome? What kind of investments or changes do you think could breathe new life into areas that feel forgotten?
@rollinwithrver6 күн бұрын
This list is such a great reminder that there are amazing places beyond the usual big-name cities. It’s inspiring to see these hidden gems getting the attention they deserve. 2025 is looking like the perfect year for a fresh start in a place like one of these!
@globalquesters4 күн бұрын
Absolutely! It’s exciting to think about how many incredible places offer a high quality of life without the big-city crowds or costs. These hidden gems often have tight-knit communities, unique local culture, and a slower pace of living that’s perfect for a fresh start. Which of the cities on the list stands out to you the most? Are you more drawn to outdoor adventures, a strong job market, or maybe just a place with a cool vibe that feels like home?
