I have ordered a set for our bedroom on our catamaran direct from Solar Shade. For custom jobs they send you a template kit so you can trace the window or hatch and send it back to them. We haven't received ours yet as Solar Shade are on a 8 week back log, but we are very excited to get them and keep the sun out of our bedroom.

8 weeks is a huge wait time but it'll be so worth it whey turn up mate. Look after Mrs H and yourself.

A couple of questions: Did you have to drop the tyre pressure and how much? Do we have to engage any 4WD gears in the crossings? I just got my 4WD , never done any off-road driving, and planning to do your route. Thank you for the video.
@notlosthonest5 күн бұрын
G'day mate, welcome to the 4WD community. I would recommend dropping the tyre pressure down to about 30 PSI, this should smooth out any bumps and make the crossings a little less rough and lock in the hubs in 4H. The water depth was pretty low when I did the crossings so please check them before you cross, don't be afraid to walk them or watch someone else cross them to get an idea of how deep they are, especially after all the rain we've had. The track is a really good track for first timers. Enjoy and let know how you went. Cheers Gav

thanks for sharing. Have been contemplating the same LED upgrade for years but have been put off by the illegailty. I think I'll go ahead as long as I can find some warm light LEDs and just ensure the headlghts are adjusted correctly. Thanks for sharing, Cheers
@notlosthonestАй бұрын
I checked QLD road law and couldn’t find anything saying they were illegal. Sorry forgot to put that in the video. I know Stedi also have an LED replacement as well. I think the adjustment is key. Thanks for watching and commenting, means a lot Cheers Gav
@cyclemoto8744Ай бұрын
@@notlosthonest Thanks for your feedback which led me to look into this further. The LED lights need to be ADR compliant and the Narva products are not whereas the Stedi's are. (I forgot that I had nearly bought the Stedi's a couple of years ago). cheers
@notlosthonestАй бұрын
I had a look at the Narva website and they state they are not ADR approved, I was surprised by that. After doing some research today I don't believe any LED globe replacements are ADR approved but full headlight replacements with LED globes are ADR approved. Honestly I'm not to worried about it. Thanks for pointing it out, I wouldn't have been any wiser.
@cyclemoto8744Ай бұрын
@ studies do state that theirs are compliant, don’t know if I missed any fine print. Agree that the key is to ensure headlights are adjusted correctly and there shouldn’t be an issue.. cheers

Thanks for the video! One thing the video seems to miss is how the ball-and-T-bolt assembly is designed to attach to the track. The track is designed to be mounted to the dash first, without the ball or T-bolt on it. Then you can add or remove ball-and-T-bolt assemblies by sliding the T-bolt through the hole in the center of the track. :)
@notlosthonest Жыл бұрын
From memory I struggled to get the T bolt fitted when it was mounted, nor sure why. I'll have to have another look at.

Well done on your first “talkie” video. I am considering the same installation on my Subaru outback but worried about the plastic dash breaking from stress of the ram rough track. How is your system holding up over time?
@notlosthonest Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. The dash has held up really well. It hasn't cracked and the mount hasn't pulled the bolts through and we've been on some pretty tough tracks, corrugated roads. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it. Cheers
