Michelangelo was a genius! Warhol was just a clever guy who got away with selling all this crap for ridiculous money. Plus reinforcing the mind of the snobs -they were really the illuminated ones- by trying to elevate this garbage to a genius level

I love long skirts on women of the 1950's; they look very sexy indeed especially the long strapless dresses also I love 1950's pop music.

Lmao nah hun you were born in the right one, many people arent able to have the luxury you have today .to listen to all the old songs and buy vintage beautiful dresses without dealing with the hardships of the time . you can appreciate their clothes but living at that time was tough.

I miss seeing women in dresss. So elegant and fine. Theyd rather drive a damn semi. And where clothes that a hooker wouldt wear in those days.

And don't get me started about today: 100-pounds excessive baggage, cheek exposing skirts/shorts, ombre hair (I really don't get that look!), writing on the butt (okay, it's been a while since I've seen that), bodies COVERED in tattoos, the roll-out-of-bed/who-gives-a-shit look...

I think the 50s is my favorite decade for ladies' fashion and even up to the JFK years, but then the fashion started by the mid-60s (during the start of the 'Nam era) with those psychedelic prints, shades of neon and orange, alien sunglasses, those preschool dresses, colored preschooler tights...

That may be true but that doesn't mean to hate the 50s! It only means hate one specific part about the 50s. :3 If I could, personally I'd bring the 40s-50s back, and I would allow it to be enjoyable for everyone, of every color.

Yeah baby... bring back those ladies' suits with the short, hip-flared jackets, and the long, tight "pencil" skirts (Bullet-bra underneath, nach)!!! Basically anything by the 'Lilli Ann' label. Paul Parnes also knew how to "paint" upscale fabrics onto the (slender) female form. It's liable to make a smart man stoo-pid enough to get married, LOL! ;^)

Andy Warhol was the King.I adore his Pop Art and as you can see his art is timeless. Although today is hard to be unique with all that tech.and ton of commercials bullshit in 1960' was much easier to succeed.I'm proud that his roots are from Europe! Andy and Edie were icons, but I dont share same opinion about the Factory, that part is better to skip and always remember the great art of his.And his quote about Fame is 100% correct. Love you Andy! Love your colors .Love your portraits.

Andy Warhol turned up in the "Badgeman" detail, taken from the Moorman pic, shows shooters and spectators in a firing party on the Grassy Knoll, Dallas Tx. 22 November 1963, when President Kennedy was shot from ambush. He is the bald guy in company with Gordon H Arnold, Dallas cop Joe Smith, and deaf mute Ed Hoffman & his wife, he normally wore a wig and was, according to 1955 testimony from one Carlton Willers, "very bald!" - Google JFK Assassination Badgeman!

What are you talking about? Women have had to fight their entire existence to gain equal rights with men. Up until the 60's, if a man and woman were doing the exact same job the man would still be paid more, simply because he was a man. There was a lot more sexual abuse back then and women were treated like objects; pretty little things who's place was to stay at home and look nice.
@frankboff1260
@frankboff1260 6 жыл бұрын
Cove MacDonald what do you mean until the 60’s? I’m in Australia and “studies” recently released showed that many women still earn 15% less than men! We still have a long way to go. There is much about the simplicity of the 50’s that was better. The racism and sexism was not one of those.
