This right here is one of my dream cars! A replica of a 1960s icon with a modern, rev-happy engine and manual gearbox. It definitely is a purer experience than almost every modern supercar on sale today. What's even more amazing is that these replicas are licensed by Shelby and Ford, which is in stark contrast to other manufacturers where they'll just send "Cease and Desist" letters if you even think of building a faithful replica of their icons. I remember someone tried to make 300SL replicas, and Mercedes told him to stop and destroy all existing builds.
@classicperformance

I remember my dad doing that with our Scamper pop-up camper to ensure no bearing issues as it had little wheels that ran very fast (RPM). Easier to catch a warm bearing and deal with it at a gas station than it getting red hot and stranding you somewhere you don't want to be. I carry a grease gun and spare bearing set with me too. Easy to service on the road.

This summer, I bought a 1988 Chevy C3500, Dually with a 545. It has taken a lot of time, to get fixed up. small stuff like tie rod ends, shocks, transmission, down shift valve and cleaning. nothing big, but adds up on time to fix all of the gremlins in a 36 year old truck. the body is in better shape than my 2001 dodge ram. The hydraulic brake booster was a new one on me. I saw the Truck and Had to have it. I'm old and don't drive very far anymore. It's About going in style now.

Ive got a 89 GMC K3500 single wheel, not dualy, Ext cab long bed. Factory 454 and Factory Bulldog 4 speed transmission. Its a hoss! I also have 88 GMC K2500 Ext. Cab long bed body on 88 and 89 is the same except 88 has 4 headlights and 89 has 2 headlights. 350 with a Bulldog 4 speed trans and its my work truck and its a beast. I got a whole load of firewood on it right now i need to unload and oh yeah i do except vokunteers. Their great trucks back when they made real trucks!
@classicperformance
@classicperformance 21 күн бұрын
we like that 4-speed option. Those days are gone too, sadly. It's our understanding that the WT (work trucks) had two headlights and the upper trim levels all had four. Thanks for sharing with us!
@Tommy-rr7ez
@Tommy-rr7ez 21 күн бұрын
@classicperformance Yes sir the 4 speeds were and are good trans but they put the 5 speeds and now 6 etc for better fuel mileage. But I like my 4 speeds. My buddy I got both trucks from many has said has the largest Square body Chevys Junk yard in Tn and he told me he has never had anybody come needing a Bulldog trans cause theirs went bad. Thanks for the info on the headlights I had never heard that I preciate it. I'm just starting on getting the 89 going the fuel pump is bad but it's not beatup and abused. I've got a 94 Dodge Ram 2500 all original I'm selling. 5.3 5 speed. New Quality paint job 2 tone red and silver like factory. Original chrome wheels and it's never been off road 4 wheeling. Many new parts and 139,000 original miles. Sharp and good truck. $8500.00 if you might know someone looking for a real nice truck. Thanks for getting back to me I realy preciate it buddy.

@Tommy-rr7ez
@Tommy-rr7ez 21 күн бұрын
@classicperformance Yes sir I feel like it's a honest and fair price and maybe somebody looking for a real good sharp truck that maybe can't afford a expensive truck will get it. I'm only selling it cause I wasn't looking for another truck but I went to my buddy cause his son had a steel bumper that fits my Dodge and their hard to find a used one and I went to look and bought it and then he showed me the 89 GMC and I thought that will go with my 88 and so I bought it. So I'm only selling Dodge cause I don't need 3 trucks and to put the money into the 89. I know it's been a while but you still got your GMC it was a good one?

One of my favorite WWII fighter from the US side. Others are P-39 (yes, it was less successful in US colors), P-38, F4F Wildcat and F6F Hellcat. The P-40 had a unique feature - it looks cool with any kind of nose art, heads and mouthes: shark, tiger head, parrot head and any nose arts. Cool aircraft with rich history.
@classicperformance
@classicperformance 24 күн бұрын
@Cuccos19 We agree with you abut favorite aircraft and the not-so-often seen or sought after wonderful P-39. Cool factor, the P40 indeed has it with the aggressive mouth and teeth. All WWII aircraft were very unique and all have very attractive qualities. And yes, the P-38 (called the twin tail devil by the Japanese) is most likely our favorite and most intriguing of them all. Thanks for your interest!

Was it hard moving it from home to.boat dock did it rock alot driving it to the dock
@classicperformance
@classicperformance 24 күн бұрын
it did rock a fair bit due to the very narrow wheels on the center lift trailer. We chose the center lift trailer for construction so that the working surface would be fairly low to the ground vs a trailer with outboard wheels and pontoon bunks. You would not want to take this craft down the road on a center mount pontoon trailer. It is perfectly fine and happy on a tandem axle outboard wheel type pontoon trailer. Thanks for asking!

The P40 is one of the most underrated fighters of all time. From Pearl Harbor and the exploits of the AVG, it served the pilots who flew it well. If one knew how to fly it, it would hold its own against its contemporaries.
@classicperformance
@classicperformance 24 күн бұрын
George, you are exactly correct. If it had a 2-speed supercharger this would have increased the operational ceiling of the craft and possibly making the most capable and successful of all throughout the war.

@classicperformance
@classicperformance 24 күн бұрын
Used the blue foam sill gasket material on a roll. See Pt. 2 at the :35 mark for how this was installed. Also exterior base caulking was used all the way around against the sill board, and also against the exterior sheeting for extra protections. No water entry in even the hardest of blowing rain!
