The thing is, I don't think he *is* a liar. His love for "his children" is genuine, it's just that his mindset is so warped and alien that he simply doesn't see why that love should prevent him from torturing and mutilating them. To be clear, I'm no Bondrewd apologist; he absolutely is a monster and needs to be stopped. I hope the series ends with him stuck in an immortal Mitty-style body in the bottom of the Abyss, unable to learn or experience anything new, forever. That's the ultimate hell for someone like him.

theres something genuinely wrong with the violence these chibi characters are put through, not in scenes like this but in the other scenes. ive seen plenty of anime violence, extreme stuff. but theres somethiing disturbing when a person can animate what is basically a cute child going through the stuff this show does. Like something genuinely disturbing, i wouldnt trust that animator around kids honestly 😅

I like Bondrewd as a villain. He's more complex because he does love those kids, but it's a twisted love more akin to loving a creation rather than a person.
