This scene gets me everytime. It's so damn visceral and the way the music is used is masterful. Plus, I love that it would be perfectly adequate to use TROY from Pete Rock and CL smooth, but they chose to use the song from which they sampled the beat from, Today from Tom Scott, which is a cover from Jefferson's Airplane's song.

This is probably the best riley episode ever, it shows us that he had a hidden talent and validates his street culture. Also we see him bond with someone who is the complete opposite, but saw right through Riley and understood him better than his own family. Thats some good character development that the show didn’t really focus on and it was so well executed

This is one of the most emotional episodes of The boondocks ever and on a side note it's a awesome take on Bob Ross he was a badass even if he really a man of illegal action LMAO there's only one thing I'm unclear on and that's is that granddad at his wedding with his dead wife or is it Huey and Riley's parents I think it's grandad and his wife but it's very unclear if somebody knew the answer to this and could provide feasible evidence I'm genuinely interested in figuring it out

This part, the ending where Riley is praying, and the Gangstaliscious pt. 2 where Riley just wanted honesty are the most moving to me.

It's been 16 years since I've seen this for the first time on adult swim, and now I come back occasionally to this because sometimes you you just need to feel something. The show was underrated, and this episode was gold

For a 8 year old who just recently started drawing, he is ridiculously gifted, it’s crazy cause I’ve known Riley’s in my life? The young wannabe thugs who are insanely gifted but just don’t know it, some would even throw their life away being wannabe thugs which is sad, Riley may be a bit ignorant but he’s a smart kid and talented as well, he could go places. Huey too? Huey is 10 with the mind of a wise 70 year old and incredibly skilled in martial arts able to hang with full grown martial arts masters only at the age of 10, Both kids are incredible? I wish this show continued with Aaron as the writer so we can see these kids use their skills more and also had a story, I bet the show was actually going to have a good story instead of “haha black people, haha stereotypes” but when Aaron left it became extremely bad, like for example the serious moments didn’t come back (boondocks was always a perfect mix of comedy and seriousness) and the stories were about dumb crap and made zero sense. Bring THIS right here back.

I really liked this show as an 8y old kid, but rewatching it as an adult is soo much better. I didn't know who Bob Ross was until I wrote an essay about him in college. Knowing how similar BR was in real life just makes this pure gold😂
