Not bad, but I think Meryl Streep was better. For one her costume was far more flamboyant and original, and you could tell she once was a beautiful young woman before the baker's father stole the magic beans. She also had a perfect singing voice, and exaggerated movements to pair well against her amazing costume and makeup design. This witch feels all too....basic, and falls too far into that witchy stereotype with a crooked nose, warts and a staff. At times her singing is a bit off, making it difficult to really enjoy the lyrics. Her comedy and physical movements are pretty spot on though, and her singing gets a lot better when she's a younger version of the witch, so I can't complain too much.

Good vocal performances.. I like the concept of updating G&S and hopefully exposing their works to new audiences. "Hot Mikado" takes this concept too far...to the extreme. I am encouraged that G and S's amazing work is strong enough to withstand the bastardization that is "Hot Mikado".

This is one difficult number! You have to enunciate every syllable so well, keep the tempo secure, and squeeze all that humor in. I can't imagine many can do this better that what we are witnessing and hearing in this clip. Peters is doing great work here
