Interesting - I remember this by Perry Como, but it was one of those songs that was tackled by a handful of labels to see which one the public would jack up to the top.

I like the background instruments. I wonder what the quality could have sounded like if it was recorded today? Oh well.

The Ink Spots, despite having this song being in the top 10 best selling singles of all time, still remains one of the more underappreciated groups and under utilized soundtrack material artists in the world of standards and music overall. Such an outstanding band, that, over it's lifetime from 1932 - 1952 (not including other groups later) it had 19 members come through it's ranks, not including it's pianists, and had become the prime examples of two entirely different genres of music, and made a sound so unforgettable and timeless that many not musically inclined can be surprised to learn these songs weren't recorded this decade, let alone the early 20th century.

Many '43 & '44 78's were pressed on reclaimed shellac. They sound scratchy even when new. This sounds different than the movie version.

Kay Starr from late-World War II??? Amazing. This is a great, soulful vocal performance by Starr on this record, and the orchestra sounds inspired by the Nat King Cole Trio. Thanks for sharing this record playing here on KZbin. :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
