I've heard Kurt saw really makes a great blade
@mowfast7463
@mowfast7463 6 ай бұрын
I was surprised by how well it performed. If kept out of the rocks I could see the blade lasting a good while. Even with half of the teeth it will cut a fair sapling no problem. And when the blade seems worn out I save them for really tall grass and weeds and even missing the carbide teeth they are useful cutting down tall grass with ease!

@Jj-uz9dp yeah I should have looked at the independent reviews. The main issue is they cut the horsepower way back so they don't have to install the dpf systems on them. And they made the ACS deck to create more suction(lift) with less power and that might be true, but there's not enough tip speed on the blade to cut all the grass on the first pass. And if the grass has any moisture from a dew or rain, then the clippings stick to the underside of the deck and you lose suction and have to stop every 30 min to clean out the deck. My JD doesn't have any issues like the kubota does

I've been running my Kubota with chute up a lot more this year and I get about 6 to 9 feet of grass throw. The John Deere with flap up is 12 to 18 ft in same conditions. Both are good mowers.

Hey Logan, what is the best residential lawn edger I should buy for about 1000-1500 feet of concrete edging? I’m tired of weed eating the whole thing. Also have any ideas on the best way to keep grass from creeping up chain link fencing? Thanks, man!
@mowfast7463
@mowfast7463 Жыл бұрын
Fantastic questions, and tough. Residentially speaking 😉 1000+ feet of edging is a bit too far to drag an extension cord, so that eliminates corded edgers. I personally feel like the gas walk behind edgers are clumsy and would prove unhandy in anything other than completely flat ground so I'd steer clear of those. They have some battery operated stick edgers out there for 100 to 180 and while I'm a fan of battery powered tools, if you don't already have that brand of batteries and chargers then you'll need probably have to buy those separately and most of the time the battery is more expensive than the tool itself 😕 I'm a big fan of echo products, and for the homeowner, I believe they have a 5 year warranty on most of their products, which is huge! 2 year commercial warranty. So I'm gonna have to suggest you look at the PAS225, you can get it with a weedeater head and the edger attachment for around $320, I think you can get just the edger pas225 for about $280. But the pas is the split shaft combination system for echo so you can use one motor(power head) for multiple attachments, like the edger, weedeater, blower, tiller and so on

And chain link fencing arggg! It can be a problem, with a steady hand and practice it's not too bad if you have access to both sides of the fence, sometimes if you share a fence and the neighbor doesn't do their due diligence then they're grass will grow thru to your side and then we have an issue. But for tight fences and problematic weedeating I always look into liquid weed eaters. A little bit goes a long way. You DO NOT need to spray 6 inches on each side of the fence, if you will just spray right on the fence line maybe an inch wide strip you'll have no weeds growing in those pesky fences and it'll be much easier to weedeat

Well being a guy who has used these also work where we sell Kubota I will take the kubota over deere any day of the week, shoulda went 72" with the Kubota and the blade i will say that come on them dont last that long and honestly suck plus this usually happens with a Kubota when the deck is packed with grass that had been wet and is stuck all over inside the deck High lift blade from Oregon is my preference

I'll pick my Deere over the Kubota nearly everytime. I am going to be putting an in depth video out this spring going over them both, likes and dislikes. But I honestly think I got a lemon Kubota. It only really excels in inch tall grass, more than that it can't handle it. Also the blade speed seems significantly less than adequate for clipping dispersion and grass suction, I'm always leaving strips of grass where it failed to stand the grass up to be cut. Idk lol the Deere has been a WORK HORSE, maybe I'm over critical but the Kubota definitely can't hang
