I almost worked for them. I’m in college and in the beginning of summer I created a LinkedIn account. Some guy reached out to me and said that he’s giving job opportunities to business students who are starting up their resume and trying to gain experience in the business field. So I went to the first meeting. The meeting was the generic “we’re not like other corporate companies. We care about our employees and customers” and “I’ve made so much money and have had so many vacations by working here.” The second day, I met up with my recruiter and he further explained the company to me and how they operate. He was luring me in by telling me how much I can make by meeting quotas and working in.a team. Then he told me to make a list of everyone I knew such as family and friends. Then he told me to call 3 of them and gave me a script to go by. He was being very persistent with then which made me uneasy. So I called a texted a few of my friends before I called them and told them to go along with whatever bs I would say to them on the phone call. After I went home, I researched the company and saw how it’s a pyramid scheme and how everyone at primerica is full of crap. I went to another company meeting they had only because I told them I’d go there. When I went there, I talked to this other college student and asked him what it was like for him. He probably got brainwashed already by them because he was telling me how it was great for him and how he’s in the process of getting licensed after 3 weeks so he can start properly working. I felt sketched out from the whole meeting because it was obviously staged and scripted. After that, I told my recruiter I’m not interested anymore and I parted ways. Funny thing is is that I’m still in one of their group chats and they post almost the same thing every week. They have the same meetings and talk about the same thing every week. They post it all in that group chat. Idek if they’re aware that I’m still in it. My goodness I dodged a nuke from parting ways with them very early on.

Do i understand correctly that if I sell a property and end up with $100,000 capital gain, that would only be taxed at 50% as normal income but if i put it into an RRSP instead, when i take it out, it's taxed at 100% as normal income? So this strategy would be terrible to defer capital gains, wouldn't it?
@ThomasCChan
@ThomasCChan 6 күн бұрын
yes and No say you are currently making $100,000 work income, you sold your property and have $100,000 therefore 50% of the profit, (50,000 will add to your income) so that 50,000 will be taxed and give 18632 if i put that 50,000 into my rrsp, so it will be offset each other, and no tax 1) and later i am going to take out $10,000 every year for the next 5 years now assuming same tax rate, that $10,000, i will get tax $3100 $3100 X 5 = 15300 < $18632 or 2) i wait until my income is low say 50,000 , then i take out the 50,000 from rrsp so that portion i will get tax 15019 still loweer than 18632

@rationalevidence9095 6 күн бұрын
@@ThomasCChan but you're also getting taxed on all the gains inside the RRSP until you take it out (instead of it growing outside the rrsp and being taxed as a cap gain at 50%.....)
@ThomasCChan
@ThomasCChan 6 күн бұрын
@rationalevidence9095 correct. So rrsp is just a tax later tool. So strategy matters Because if you leave it outside. Everything you have growth you have to pay tax as well.

It’s very difficult to make a living, like selling any financial product sales. The majority of new life insurance salespeople fail out the first year. When you think of it, every business is a pyramid scheme. A friend of mine was a UBS office manager. He got paid on override of his brokers. Of course pyramid schemes are illegal. It’s a mlm. Just like UBS or Merrell lynch.

You should be able to leave your money in your rrsp and withdraw it as needed not as ordered by the govt starting at age 71.That would be a real self firected retirement plan and it is all taxed at the maximum marginal rate when you die anyway.The rates are such that by the time younare 90 your retirement fund is gone. Does that happen with govt employees pensions?You should mention this as an alternative to the current dystem.

As a 100k earner RVP with Primerica, I've been through the trenches and know first hand exactly what it takes to win in Primerica. I'm not going to say it's easy or for everyone, nor that it's perfect. For the right person such as myself, it's a life changer. I think you're a good guy, but there are definitely many inaccuracies and misstatements in this video, as well as several things stated as fact that are opinion. I'm not going to type everything out here, as nearly everything has been covered in the comments. I genuinely think you're trying to help people unlike a lot of videos that just like to be negative, but unfortunately there are going to be lots of newer people who see this video and get scared away unnecessarily from misinformation. You said it yourself that it happens, but you're contributing to that phenomenon 🤷 Would love to have a live discussion and clear some of that - people deserve it. Feel free to reach out with questions.

Thomas, I think your video was slightly skewed and biased. Some of the aspects that you gave as "negatives" were not negatives but opinion. Many network marketing types of distribution businesses requires an upfront cost to start your own business (like travel agencies, etsy, etc.) and recruiting is a part of all of them. As far as cost, Primerica is not going to be the cheapest. However, the cheapest is not the best. Cheap life insurance will cut value of the product and there are many tricks that insurance companies put into the term insurance plans like annual renewable rate, or clauses that allows the company not to pay out. Primerica has forever rating so that once you are a client, you do not have to show insurability just to renew the policy. Your list of features of a whole life that term doesn't cover are areas that insurance should not cover or the coverage amount of the whole life is low with a high cost. Buy term and invest the difference for most middle and low-class families is a better option. Primerica does have principles of business to do what is right for the middle-class families. Almost every financial advisor who does not sell insurance will advise most people to buy term, stay away from IUL and invest their money in the market in a good solid mutual fund will ALWAYS produce better returns than the cash savings portion of permanent insurance products.

Realistically speaking, Primerica is not for 90% of the population! You have to be willing to give up a lot of your life, possibly lose friends and family members, put in hours, blood, sweat, and tears per week, deprive yourself of sleep, and be a very driven and outgoing personality to succeed with them. Not to mention a good test taker in passing all your exams and licenses. My upline from the year 2000 was with them for over two years. He did all the right things, had the right attitude, went to all the meetings, got all his licensing, and the like. Around the year 2001, he got out of the Air Force and was going to be doing Primerica full-time. A few months later, I hear he’s working as an assistant manager at a pizza parlor to help pay the bills. Not long after that, he sold his house. I bumped into him again in 2005 at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and he was fixing to go to Afghanistan with me. I never brought it up with him being part of Primerica, just told him I was glad to see him again. Recruit, recruit, recruit is the key, maybe.

This guy knows nothing. You can tell that he only wants to sell permanent insuracne. $100 to get all your necessary licences is amazing. $28 a month to run your entire business from anywhere is better than anywhere else. This guy is saying that the term insurance thats offered is more expensive and only has the one benefit, clearly this guy didn't learn enough about the product. Our term insurance can do a lot more than that. Another thing you wanna keep in mind is that most companies that offer insurance are usually backed by a secondary company. Primerica is strong as a company that we back our life insurance. You don't need to convert your policy to a permanent policy ever if you follow the steps your advisor has set forth for you. There's more I can say but all I can say is this guy clearly doesn't know enough.
