Dear Wally. Your content is great! So much valuable information and smart solutions which prove that you really know what you are talking about.❤ Do you use customized retractors? Do you need any assistence to handle the retractors and suction while you do the scanning? Best, Patrick.

Hey Dr Wally, My office still has a Medit i500. I've successfully gotten some lower edentulous scans with an assistant-- but I'm wondering if you think the i500 is holding me back? The scans take a long time and I'm often trimming noise constantly while scanning. Thanks buddy, love your stuff.

Hello, I have a guestion for your guidance. finally you aligneed scan body library to scanned data including scan body(I guess you scanned that at upper(or lower) jaw stage). Then, what was meaning for fastening, scanning, merging the jig? I think that there were no diffefences between scanning & aligning scan body directly and your tutorial process.
@wallyrenne
@wallyrenne 7 күн бұрын
The special scanbodies are scanned and the implant position exported. These are used to make the prosthetic and merged to the soft tissue scan .

nice! that‘s pretty much exactly my procedure I came up with. I use little UV-blocking nail polish glass bottles that have a little brush inside on their cap for the resin "glaze“. It makes the workflow a bit quicker. You can just store a bunch of these with different resins inside them and don’t worry about accidently curing some of them. If you need one just shake it a bit, screw it open and you already have a soaked brush in your hands thats never been contaminated with a different resin nor does it ever need cleaning.

@wallyrenne

You do not. Call it implant and select preop. That gives you 3 scans per arch to play with. Preop, tissue, scanbody

Probably a weird ask. But if you want video ideas I think it would be cool to have a video watching you physically take the scan and maybe talk about ergonomics? I always find I get into these weird ergonomical positions when scanning trying to get into all the difficult regions. And have also noted when I train other clinicians at work the first few times they scan they also look contortionists haha. Not sure how many people have this issue

How do you scan the bite when doing full full dentures for edentulous patients
@wallyrenne
@wallyrenne 26 күн бұрын
I could think of a few ways to do it super easily. First at the patient has an existing denture. You could use that to scan the proper vertical and pin these intra oral scans to the intaglio surface of the denture scans. Another way to do it is to look into the free resources at MOD such as the MOD record system The system uses a special tray for capturing the bike record that gets scanned in

Great Workflow! Wally... quick question: What exact order did you put into Trios Unite to get this specific set of scans. You took the first scans and then jumped all the way to occlusion before going back? Did you do 1) Pre Prep Scan 2) Tissue Scan 3) Scanbody scan?

Yes exactly. Tell unite you are doing implant bridges. That unlocks scanbody and gingival scan. Then check preop. Then it knows that will be the arches used for the bite.
