Too bad they haven't figured out the trans fluid yet. Now they make you pay through the nose until they figure it out ...

I drove a Foden 4000 series with a 350 cat motor in the 90,s and at the time that was as good as anything else

I started driving heav goods in the 1970s and was glad to have avoided most of these here, driving mostly volvo ,.. The Bedford was not so bad, I enjoyed the driver comfort aspect that Volvo put effert into ,When driving one of these mentioned here I nearly put my shoulder out and the gears were a nighmare ,Still it kept you busy in bad tarffic every gear change an adventure ,

Some 15 years ago I lent a hand to restore 3 lovely old RLH double decker London buses abandoned in San Diego for 20 years - not easy but gratifying to see them running again - still feeling it in the pocket ! 😉

unbelievable in the past only one wiper on some older makes, bad enough rain but what about snow this was very bad designing ,and how much would it save in cost compared the hard work of the drivers,

From memories I remember Albion, Leyland and Austin trucks ruled the roads in East Africa. But Mercedes and Mann trucks also had a share in later years.

It’s criminal what governments have done over the years
Some of those dates - the founding dates - are a bit suspect.

Foden went bust with hundreds of millions worth of orders on the books, as Thatchers government wouldn't just help them out short term to pay for the massive expansion the government wanted. I have a letter from Mrs Thatcher to Foden ltd basically saying we won't help because we don't want Britain to be a heavy manufacturer any more ,that's it

American foreign policy has ruined Britain, encouraging successive governments to turn their back on our culture and industrial heritage, why so Yankees can stuff the dollar in their fat greedy pockets, we should declare neutrality and reclaim our destiny, PS that last Bedford tk said 1982 but had a 1972 number plate, cheers though good little film mate

That was a great video, many thanks for sharing, my favourite would have to be the Bedford S type, as I got my truck and car licence in army RL Bedford, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia, Les
In fact, Argentina's buses (311, 312, 911, 912, 1112, 1114, etc. ) weren't 100% "Mercedes". Mercedes-Benz provided truck chassis and the bodies were built by different coachbuilders.
