Great catch of that Loram rail-grinder unit! Ever see one of those things operating at night? What a lightshow! Hey, what's with the police sirens? Was the Loram unit speeding? Thanks for going out on what looked like a rainy, miserable day and shooting video for us to enjoy!

it was a great time. the train has a siren on it but what for? not sure what it's for
@wayneantoniazzi270628 күн бұрын
@@nepa-njrailfan8533 Just a wild guess on my part but I'm betting it's to let all concerned know rail grinding operations are about to begin. Sparks and detritus are going to be flying all over and depending on conditions trackside fires caused by the sparks are a distinct possibility. So the siren's a signal for " Get ready boys, the action's about to start!" As I said, just a guess.

You would think that this would be a Norfolk Southern job since they technically still own the entire line from Suffern all the way to Buffalo.

Interesting! Catching a light engine move like that has to be a bit unusual. Oh yeah, take care of those EMD's the way you should and don't abuse them and they seem to last forever. NJ Transit's got some over 60 years old and still earning their keep.

This may be one of the last times for a while that we see Clinchfield equipment operating. - Sorry, mistook the Lackawanna 664 in the thumbnail for Clinchfield 800. But still, dozens perished, communities are isolated, interstates are demolished, and to top it off, we may have seen the end of a handful of scenic and historic railroads. The last week has been hard, and the coming weeks won’t be much different. I send my prayers to those who are affected by this tragedy, and for those who will be affected by the subsequent economic disruption. In a time where we can’t afford groceries, the worst thing that could happen to increase costs actually happened. For what it’s worth, all who are affected are in my prayers.

This is great - I drive regularly along Route 17 towards Binghamton and back - I always wondered if those tracks I see along the street in Hancock / Deposit are really are in use. Apparently there are trains running! In which direction runs SU-99? Towards Port Jervis or Binghamton? Is it a daily service?
@nepa-njrailfan85336 ай бұрын
They are the same tracks. su99 runs from originates in New Jersey and goes through Port Jervis up to Binghamton. i have another video of a train on this line coming out this week you might also enjoy.
