I don't believe that would work. The product needs to be kept level so that the lid or seal is not affected. Good thinking though. Take care.

You're adorable, and I subscribed immediately, because we have the same 16qt, with the weighted rocker. I cannot find my manual, and landed here. Meanwhile, my jarred tomato sauce is in the pot cooling. Do I take that rocker hobby off while it cools?
@pepperminthomecrafts8269
@pepperminthomecrafts8269 Ай бұрын
You don't need a pressure canner to can tomatoes. That can be processed in a hot water bath. Be sure not to open the lid if there's pressure in there. However, tomatoes can be canned w a pressure canner. In that case the processing time would be less and the weighted rocker can be removed when the pressure is zero. Wait only 10 minutes after that and the lid can be removed. You should be able to get a copy of your manual gopresto.com . Thank you for subbing. I will probably do some tomatoes soon. I don't have a video on them yet. Take care.

Thanks for the video. If you look at the instruction manual, you will note that some of the capacity readings have an asterisk (*) after them. Like this "16 half-pints*" If you look below the table you will see that it means "* It will be necessary to double-deck jars to achieve the maximum capacity. To double-deck, stagger the jars by placing one jar on top of two. Jars may touch. For boiling water method, do not double-deck jars. "

If you had 2 washers you could save even more on water. You wash in one, rinse in the other. Then when your rinse water gets about 3-4 loads ran through it, you start washing in the old rinse water, and drain the dirty washing water and switch that washer, to the rinse water. I have 2 Maytags I'm getting ready to put to use, after I replace the oil/grease, and replace the seal under the agitator. That way as I wash, I can also be rinsing! I get my Maytag parts from Cottage Craftsworks. They have all the parts and an online manual for working on a Maytag.

Thank you so much! You must be some sort od mind reader. I just got a Maytag last week, however, it needs some work and I'm needing a place to buy parts. I also got a double tub sink. Having that would save some time getting two loads washing at a time. I appreciate your interest in my video! Take care.

Question I see you have the 16qt and 23 at canner. Do you feel like the 16 quart is faster...heats up AND cools down quicker? Thanks.:) Just wondering if I use the 16qt for carrots if they would be a little less mushier.
@pepperminthomecrafts8269
@pepperminthomecrafts8269 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question, it gives me something to think about. The 16 qt does seem to build up pressure and cool down faster. I've also wondered if the amount of jars inside would make a difference as well. The different amounts would mean the density would be different. I like to experiment, so I will definately take notice in the future. Thank you for subscribing and welcome to the channel!

Thanks for the video! It did help me because I’m looking to buy my first pressure canner as I’m new at canning. Can you answer a question please? Can you “pressure can” pint jars in this or do you have to water bath them? The description on Walmart’s webpage is confusing it says “Regular Mason Jar Capacity: 13 half-pints, 10 pints, or 7 quarts (Half-pints and pints only for boiling water processing). Extended 12-year limited warranty.” ….. so does that just mean you can ALSO water bath but not the quart size jars??? I want to pressure can pint size jars AND quart size, can I do that with this?
@pepperminthomecrafts8269
@pepperminthomecrafts8269 2 жыл бұрын
I will do a video on answering your question soon. The 16 quart Presto Pressure Canner will Water Bath half pint (8oz/1 cup) Jars and pint sized (16 oz/2 cups) Jars. However, it isn't tall enough to water bath can quart sized (32 oz/4 cups/2 pints all the same) jars. Also, you might want to determine whether you will be using the regular mouth or wide mouth jars in either. You can fit more regular mouth jars in it at one time than wide mouth. Stay tuned and I believe you will have a complete or better understanding after watching my upcoming video. Thank you for your comment! Take care.
