Thank you for the informative video. I did not understand your reasoning for not using the default "Banks" option, and you opted instead to create Banks with Flight Modes instead. Why not just use the Banks option as Spirit intended?
@ademaine1Күн бұрын
A few reasons, one I need to create flight modes regardless to set up different throttle curves, pitch curves, and potentially have different expo levels etc for each flight mode I`m in (these are always set at TX level and can not be stored in the FBL). Two, It provides more flexibility in terms of tuning which you will see in the upcoming videos (yet to be loaded as I write this) . For example I can set cyclic gain for as many flight modes as I create (e.g. Auto, Bank 1, Bank 2, Bank 3 in my use case, but remember I could add even more FM's if I wanted to) Using the old way I would be limited to only 3 independent values of cyclic gain so I would potentially have to share a Spirit bank across multiple Flight Modes, this may be OK for some, but is not ideal for me. Lastly (and again you will see this in upcoming videos) Its actually easier to adjust the parameters by flight mode rather than when enabling banks as currently when you enable banks, each time you switch bank when in a tuning parameter, the TX kicks you out the screen you are in and you then have to press back into the screen each time. The great thing about the Wave is you can do it either way (the old way using the inbuilt FBL banks) or the new way I describe in this video. Hope this helps.
@johnahamelv14 сағат бұрын
@@ademaine1 Thank you for responding. My Spirit WAVE order has not been shipped yet, so I still have not had a chance to play with it. I've always used Spirit with Jeti radios thus far. The Spirit units stores 3 Banks, and I have 6 Flight modes in the radio. I combine 3 flight modes to the same switch I assigned the 3 Banks. If I understand you correctly, the WAVE system takes this to the next level allowing for more tuning possibilities by using multiple Flight Modes instead of Banks. Thank you for the explanation.
@ademaine114 сағат бұрын
@@johnahamelv exactly right. With the Wave you can either replicate exactly what you currently do with your Jeti (I have also ran Jeti and GTrs and likewise my IU three way switch was mapped to my Spirit bank switch or…take advantage of the versatility of the Wave where you can, for example, tune cyclic rates, rudder rate, style, feed forward etc for every flight mode created rather than be limited to just sharing the three internal spirit banks across your six FMs.

You defo want to stop the rotation, otherwise it's too easy to keep rotating around until it feels comfortable, but you will have skipped over fighting it at your weak point. Makes it easier to isolate the corrections too.

Finally putting a HW Platinum 60A in my 470LM. I know default motor rotation on the HW is ser for "clockwise", dumb question, is that the correct setting for an Align 470L? Or should it be counter-clockwise? Thank you!!
@rchelicopter11 күн бұрын
It depends on which way round the 3 motor wires have been connected. If the motor is going the wrong way, you can either swap 2 of the motor wires, or change the direction in the ESC.

Re: nose takeoff. Ive always wondered how very good 3d pilots manage to keep the heli on its nose for what seems like forever. Is it a balancing act? Cant seem to get that one on the sim
@rchelicopterАй бұрын
It's the inertia. You have to pop it hard and stop it but still have a slight upward movement. The more subtle you can make it, the better. Basically a lot of the gravity defying moves are a pop followed by something with no pitch that shouldn't be possible.

Richard, your channel came highly recommended, and rightly so. ive subbed there now. as a newbie to the heli scene, im tooled up with a vbar touch and omp m4. also have heli x with the vbar app so i can use a sim. any feedback on how i should progress? my aim eventually is to fly scale, i will never be interested in inverted flight, never mind 3d. just circuits, stall turns, fig 8 etc. Most if not all the online channels / podcasts etc are catering for the aspiring 3d pilot. id appreciate all the help i can get to just do the basics. older brain here, but im a firm believer in keeping the brain exercised, so hope you understand. im a Jeti radio pilot for the fixed wing but prefer the vbar ecosystem for my heli journey. TIA
@rchelicopterАй бұрын
Hey Gerry, that's great to hear. Scale isn't my thing, but I did a bit of research around what sort of manoeuvres they would fly, and it turns out in general there are 6 required moves for most of the flown competitions. It should be easy enough to find depending on the country you're in. VBar is awesome, super simple, and the guys from Mikado love scale, so it should do everything you need.
