Side effects from docetaxel were definitely milder than I had feared they might be. They did get progressively worse with each infusion. I had six cycles, and was very glad not to have a seventh. The following year I had six cycles of cabazitaxel. In my case, the side effects started sooner and were stronger. Again, I was very glad not to have a seventh infusion. It took me a couple months to feel like I was back to normal. Some side effects have lingered, but they are tolerable. I got very good results, so it was worthwhile to endure the treatment.

the problem with the idea of shared decision making when it comes to prostate cancer is there is no coordination of care. urologist says have surgery. radiation oncologist if you are lucky to see one tells you about that option. nobody neutral to help the patient make the decision. A coordinator to help w/ the decision should be standard of care.

I am doing the research for my boyfreind who was disgnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago. He is finally (I hope) ready to deal with it. I don't have a penis myself but I have observed that the relationship between a man and his dick is a very deep one so I can understand his fears of losing his erection at 57. That's what has been holding him up for these two years. This video is wonderful and educational and you can best believe we will be watching it together ASAP! I'll carry him to the doctor on my back if necessary but It's going to happen come hell or high water. Thank you so much for this video. You have no idea how much it helped me. And now it will help my boyfriend whom I love very much.

Dr. McNeil, That was a masterful presentation! I am a Genitourinary Nurse Navigator at a regional cancer center and deal with patients with prostate cancer every day. And I especially appreciate your encouragement to take time to educate yourself and have those conversations. Patients too often feel that once given the "C" diagnosis, it must be removed as quickly as possible. Long life an high QOL are still available, even if we are not treating to cure the more advanced cancers. Thank you for your contribution! Mike Freeze, BSN, RN

It’s pretty simple. Even after an MRI showing two lesions with one aggressive. Doctors dismiss the patients concerns and wishes regarding what standard treatment they choose. You will do my biopsy or we will not treat you. My choice is you get one invasive treatment or test. Take your Chemo poisons and Radiation Carcinogen and stick it where the sun doesn’t shine. Doctors are not our Creator or our Master.

It's disconcerting to hear nothing at all about the long term or often permanent effects of ADT CASTRATION. Patients need to be informed about ALL THE HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS including the facts that testosterone recovery after completion of ADT CASTRATION is unpredictable, and that up to twenty percent of older men will NEVER RECOVER their testosterone levels above castrate level and remain castrated for life, and that after 18 months or more of ADT, 75 percent of all men will not recover their testosterone levels even after a median time of FIVE YEARS. Without full disclosure of all the facts, there can be no FREE AND FULLY INFORMED CONSENT to this cruel and barbaric treatment.
@robwells2303 ай бұрын
Disconcerting to hear you minimalize and obfuscate the horrific quality of life destroying and life shortening side effects of ADT CASTRATION. It is unethical to coerce, deceive, and intimate patients into this cruel and barbaric treatment without fulll disclosure necessary for FREE AND FULLY INFORMED CONSENT. ADT doesn't just decrease libido, it completely destroys libido and blocks orgasms., it increases the risk of diabetes, metabolic syndrome, brain fog, dementia, 20 times increased occurence of periodontal disease, penile tissue atrophy, and permanent CASTRATION in up to twenty percent of older men, and years of suppressed Testosterone levels after ADT is discontinued. ADT longer than 18 months reduces life expectancy by two years.

I totally agree. ADT CASTRATION is a cruel and barbaric treatment with horrific quality of life destroying and life shortening side effects that the NARCO MEDICO CARTEL don't want men to know about. I was coerced, deceived, intimidated and extorted into getting one six month shot of Eligard and the side effects became so insufferable that I refused further injections inspite of being ordered to take this toxic medication for two years. Any ADT CASTRATION longer than six month will kill you faster than the cancer, unless you have very aggressive metastatic cancer. BEWARE... ADT CASTRATION results in permanent CASTRATION in up to twenty percent of older men, and after ADT 18 months or more , 75 percent of all men will NOT RECOVER THEIR TESTOSTERONE EVEN AFTER A MEDIAN TIME OF FIVE YEARS.
@robwells2303 ай бұрын
Dr Shore is one of the few doctors who will actually tell us just how horrific the quality of life destroying and life threatening the side effects are from this cruel and barbaric ADT CASTRATION.
@robwells2303 ай бұрын
Big Pharma doesn't want men to be informed about all the horrific quality of life destroying and life shortening side effects of their cruel and barbaric ADT CASTRATION toxic treatments and the severe brain fog effects, dementia, periodontal disease, cardiovascular effects, muscle loss, frailty, fatal bone fractures, diabetes, mood swings, depression, risk of permanent CASTRATION, or that 75 percent of all men on 18 months or more of ADT will not recover their normal testosterone levels EVEN AFTER A MEDIAN TIME OF FIVE YEARS. The real truth about this toxic shit would negatively impact their sales of these outrageously expensive toxins. We are being experimented on like concentration camp inmates without our FREE AND FULLY INFORMED CONSENT.

Stating it’s an expendable organ after a man is finished procreating is a horrible perspective on quality of life. I would never visit this Dr for any reason. This man’s flippant attitude shows why you must take health care into your hands and be vigilant in assessing what physicians tell you. You’re really just a number to them.

I am Agent Orange presumptive. I have prostrate cancer discovered in 2015. This was before the Pact act so I never had the chance to claim while active. But I still had cancer and a prostrate that does not function. Now I have a claim in but I will not get the benefit of the 4 months at 100%. So here I am with a severe voiding problem and urinary problems as well as total impotence. I will live with the effects of this cancer for my whole life. Seems to me that 100% is reasonable. I have read many medical opinions that say Prostrate cancer never goes away but is controllable.
