Alot of people here died too young,it's sad, some not long after graduating! My high school class fared better fortunately but at this point, any of them dying is one too many,Class of 86 here!

My Dad was Stationed at Corpus Christi NAS from 1970-Dec 1973 and was Discharged with 20 Years in the Navy. I went to Flour Bluff all that time and then didn't get to Graduate there because we moved back up here between Dallas and Houston, where my Mom and Dad had been raised. I would have given anything to have been able to stay down there and Graduate with all of my Friends. My Best Friend was Rick Parr and He did come up here to visit me after he Graduated but I've not been in touch with anyone from Flour Bluff since then....If I remember correctly, he and John Porter were going to Join the Marines after Graduation (They said it was because they liked the Dress Blues and I Pray that they are both well). We left down there before Senior Pictures were taken and when we arrived up here for the last 1/2 of Senior Year, they'd already taken their Yearbook Pictures. So I didn't think my Picture was in any yearbook although it appears I did have the picture from Junior year in the 1973 FBHS Yearbook. (I've been trying to find a FBHS 1974 Yearbook but can't find one). So finding this has let me "see" all of my Friends again and has brought back so many Fond Memories of all of them. I miss each and every one of you! Thanks Edward for going through the Trouble of Putting all of this Together. Even though I didn't get to Graduate from Flour Bluff High School, I'll always be a Hornet at Heart!

Crazy how I find myself suddenly sad for people I didn't know existed ten minutes ago. Life is cruel and full of surprises. Tell the people you love that you love them and try to love the people that you don't a little more if at all possible.

So many from your class that died young. I don't know but in my mind with a name like Flour Bluff it doesn't seem to me like it would be a very large school. Please forgive me if I am being presumptuous. I'm curious as to how many were in this graduating class

I'm 68 now from the class of 72. We were a small rural school, so everyone knew each other. We had students die while still in school, some died right after graduation and some died in Viet Nam. Our last class reunion was our 25th and there was only about a dozen of us left out of a graduating class of 55. Now I'm back living close to where I grew up and I've only been able to locate a few of my classmates. It seems that we outlived all the others. I get sad when I think about all of those who passed away so young and never got to experience all of the wonderful things that I just took for granted at the time. Getting married, working hard all day and coming home to a loving wife and kids that were glad to see you. All of the places I saw and people I met while traveling. Having a tiny person call you "Grandpa!" Finally making it to retirement age and living past it. Seeing the tiny face of my first Great Grand Daughter. I have lived a life that most people can only dream about and that some will never know about. I bid farewell to my classmates who left us before their time was due. The world is a lesser place because of it.

Lived in Corpus spring of 76 to fall of 79; had the deluxe accommodations at the Navy base; i must have drove past the High School a bazillion times, yet can not remember it now. I was a young teen then and hung out with two Flour Bluff High School g@ls: Sandy & Beth. Beth married my buddy and they are still married and live in Michigan: Sandy passed some time ago.

@@nancywutzke5392 look up the definition of the word "believe" in the dictionary, or I can give you it right now. It reads, "to assume suppose without any certainty." The strongest word an individual can use in expressing their total acceptance of something is "believe" but unfortunately that definition still leaves an uncertainty. This only enhances the idea that in this world "we don't know anything for sure" until it can be proven, verified or confirmed on our level.

Smoking, no smog check regulation, and that fat they used to put in the food that was as healthy as engine grease. That was bad, unhealthy stuff. And yes, the fix came from the nagging of the health nuts that we used to make fun of me included (I still do). However in this case given the numbers I would say your school was maybe built on some toxic waste site. They built many schools on cheap land back then.
