The old one looked exactly like a real life carrier, but in space. This one smooths it out more so it looks a little less silly.

Well as of right now I don't know haven't played it in a bit... they have put the Vasari back in now there working on the advent... but last time I played there wasn't any new ship categories... could be becoming after advent faction is back

It was really noticeable how your anti-fighter ships took out fighters and missiles. They did a good job on this game.

Well you have to manually dock them... They don't dock on their own. And also if you played soase rebellion you would normally have to pick your strikecraft or fighters. In this game they are evenly pick for you.

if you count how many sins games this one would be considered number 3 theres the original trinity then theres rebilion and then the new one comin out with higher graphics than the last 2 games. that i dought they want to start tryin to copy another games stuff since this game is unique in its own way even if you look at the 2 games stellaris clearly rippped some ideas from sins.

As much as i'd like to enjoy this, I don't. I know it's going to be a rehashed original with better graphics, less overall features and probably a few cool but niche ideas to rope people in. It will never be what it once was. That's how the gaming industry is now with these kinds of games.

I just learned today about the existence of SOASE 2. As far as I can see, it's just SOASE with better graphics? Or is there any new addition to the game mechanics?

Yes and no... they added actually gun turrets to the ships. They changed the research tab a lot. As for the time being this is a tech preview so most of things were ripped out of SOASE and put in place. But they have been changing things slowly. Newest update is the multi-player update but it's on the test version which I don't own...

Very good thing about the turrets, being independent entities like in the old Homeworld series, it opens new strategies and modding possibilities.

they said in the Q&A that they would like for the game to be on other platforms, but didn't give any time frame, so its probably going to stay on epic for a while edit: maybe full release if were lucky!?

I'm with you. Like, I get that the slow firey explosions from Sins 1 make zero sense in the context of space, but it did provide a more cinematic feel to ships and structures being destroyed. I feel like the current explosions don't convey the loss with enough significance. Hoping they dramatize it a bit in the future.

Lovely, so excited for this! Just beat my first Unfair 4p FFA. Can't wait to see how the AI gets modernized, hopefully can act a bit more dynamic and cohesive, execute viable offensive/defensive strategies. Nice win!

After watching many videos on the tech preview, it improves on just about every aspect of the first game. That's what a sequel should do.

I'll be honest, the quick pop explosions are less satisfying than the original's, which had the ships actually take a few seconds to have their reactor cores explode in a lingering halo of destruction. I get it's a tech test, just giving feedback
