My husband and his family lived 3 miles from Flora. His dad lived near Flora for 25 years. My husband was born in Enterprise, lived around Flora in several places, and moved away around 1977. It's a shame the church passed away.

Is the school house still being turned into a museum? I was one of the last 3 students to attend there in the 70's.

Thanks, Ron. I was blessed with the opportunity to share this significant fisheries story. As you know first-hand, fisheries management and research has had a seismic shift in personnel due to recent retirements. I hope this film inspires this generation to make similar contributions to our fisheries resources.

"This quiet dust was gentleman and ladies and lads and girls" now echos with laughter of the happy times gone by. Sounds from the falling down buildings sound like folks in happier times sharing the bounty of their paycheck with friends and family. When the gold ran out so did the smiles, and folks moved on.

Great video! How close was the trail to the creek for your journey to the first log jam? Thanks for sharing.
@bluzriver
@bluzriver Жыл бұрын
The trail did not follow the stream closely, but was a reasonable distance so we could almost always hear it. In a few places, it was several feet above. The trail was relatively well defined to the first log jam, not the second. The Nez Perce National Forest map is accurate and a good resource: www.fs.usda.gov/main/nezperceclearwater/maps-pubs
