I learned that the Blue pallets are some of the worst to take a part and leave them where I find them. Usedd every method and the wood recovered is not worth the work put into them.

Aren't the blue pallets chemically treated? This is a beautiful table. Just just wondering if those pallets need extra precautions
@TruOnyxfire
@TruOnyxfire Жыл бұрын
Yeah, they are, most of the time with Methyl Bromide, highly toxic. And, the red and blue painted pallets are deposit pallets, meaning the company that used them put a deposit down with the distributer that delivered the products on them to be returned and reused. So, these pallets were either owned by the video's creator already, or they were stolen.

We paid somewhere between $3,600-$4,00 for our 27 foot roof. This included them taking off the previous roof and putting on the new pvc roof. We got lucky and did not need to replace any plywood underlayment or broken vents. If your plywood is rotting, or if any of the vents get broken when they remove the roof, it would cost more to replace.

Don't we need to seal the planter inside out to save it from rotting? Just curious to know 🤔🤔
@tripledcrazysfabrication1817
@tripledcrazysfabrication1817 2 жыл бұрын
Great question! For the first two years, we used the planter with only the burned bowl as protection. It worked well, but especially with the succulents we planted in it, we watered infrequently and the wood started to show that wear. About a year ago, we coated the inside of the bowl with Flex Seal: Liquid Rubber Sealant Coating. Unfortunately, the wood was already cracked so it can’t fix it completely. That being said, the planter is still holding together and doing well considering it’s three years old!

Okay I love the design that you made out of pallets. I don't love the fact that you're leading people to believe that it's safe to do what you just showed. Pallets are marked ht for heat-treated. Any pallets that are painted or painted with a methylbromide base paint with when you sanded or cut it releases toxic chemicals into the air which is dangerous for humans
@vikassm
@vikassm 2 жыл бұрын
+1 to that. Pallets & packaging boxes are NOT safe. I used to work in the same building as a chemical import/export company. The workers would get rashes, itchy skin, watery eyes from simply handling some of the (unbroken) boxes. Sometimes they'd get shipments with broken boxes, leaking drums, etc and those boxes+pallets would go straight to waste disposal. Basically they'd be thrown in a pile/hole where no one would care. Frequently someone or the other would come along and do away with some of the wood. I can't imagine what would have happened to the folks who ended up with furniture made out of this crap! Worse still, imagine if they burnt the wood indoors! Apparently, One persons toxic trash is another persons suicidal home project!!

We used Minwax Early American for the stain, and we did not use the pallet wood for the top base. We actually used 1x4 boards for the edge so it would be uniform, but you could absolutely use pallets if you wanted. :)

Hi, this is a beautiful design! I love it, and plan to make two for my barrels :) I'm planning for the dimension, and am wondering - does this fit a standard 55 gallon barrel? I want to make sure the stand is the proper size!
@tripledcrazysfabrication1817
@tripledcrazysfabrication1817 3 жыл бұрын
We’re so glad you like the barrels! Our design should accommodate standard sized barrels, anything up to about 23 inches in diameter. It might be snug at 23 inches, but it should still fit. If you have anything larger than 23 inches diameter, you’ll need to upsize the plywood base and the supports. We would love to see photos when you build them! You can share to our Facebook page or our email, [email protected].
