These guys need full hazmat suits! The fiberglass industry is pretty scary too! Real craftsmen though

There's no fiberglass in cultured marble. Calcium carbonate is mixed with resin.

@@1Chuck I didn’t say it was, I said the Fiberglass industry like the cultured marble industry was pretty scary too. Both have lots of chemicals and stuff in the air. Btw I really like cultured marble.

@bluhammer06 I understand. However, hazmat suits are not required. A respirator is required when spraying gelcoat and grinding cultured marble.

Hello Chuck, what kind of pigment you’re using for your regular marble? I just started and using powder caddo pigments but I don’t know if there is a better alternative, like liquid pigment?

The products are universal. You will need to talk to your resin supplier to see what is available in your country. If your in the USA, call Composites One or North America Composites or any composites distributor.

I use to make cultured marble with my dad. He owned a business in Oklahoma for a long time. I grew up in that marble shop. Making tubs, sinks, showers, dog bowls lol I miss those days and it’s nice seeing you guys pouring. My brother and I use to argue over who had to pour hats after dinner lol it was always me lol

I'm not sure what you mean. The Drain fits into the bottom of the bowl to drain water. I would love to see a picture of your drain.

Hello Chuck your sink is great can tell proportion polyester resin to calcium carbonate
@1Chuck
@1Chuck 10 ай бұрын
You will use 24 - 26 % resin to 74 - 76% Calcium Carbonite. The viscosity of your resin and the grind of your fill will determine your percentage. You want the consistency of a thick batter. Its going to take you some trial and error. I will say for a Duocast Bowl, it's smart to keep your mix on the thin side so that the deck levels correctly.

Very nice job, how you make the seams?
@1Chuck
@1Chuck 8 ай бұрын
Cultured Marble does not seam well because it does not go through a milling machine. Those 2wo pieces are butted together with silicone. It is possible to make a seam with gel coat and color but I have seen this type of seam crack over the years. The customer also was interested in keeping costs down.

Whatever your casting on needs to be as smooth and shiny as possible. You will need a high speed buffer with a wool buffing pad you will also need an orbital sander with 1200 grit wet dry sand paper. And lets not forget a good buffing compound.

Dear friend i have make this but when i cut and polish it that very hard can you guide me why and how its normal i have use solid surface tools
@1Chuck
@1Chuck Жыл бұрын
You can't polish anything that's not covered by a clear gelcoat. You set up your molds for the size you want dont forget to add ¹/¹⁶" per foot for shrinkage. You spray your molds with gelcoat, and soon after it dries, you cast the marble. You can only polish the smooth side. If you want to make a solid surface, you will need a vacuum mixer.
