Hi, I want to start by saying that I like your video. But you can improve it by render your video in 1440p because that give you vp09 codecs with vp09 your videos will not longer be pixelated. You can check my first and latest fs19 video, and see the difference between vp09(latest video) vs avc1(first video). Btw keep the grind up! I hope i helped you!

How do the set-up costs for the Scott Henry compare to those for VSP? I'm curious if it's a large initial investment that makes Scott Henry less popular than VSP (even though S.H. seems to be an interesting option for high vigor vines).

The costs are the same at about $2500 per acre but where it gets expensive is the vine spacing. The VSP can have twice the amount of vines in the same acre as the Scott Henry, hence the extra expense.

1. Is it common for a vineyard to have several different training systems? 2. What is the most prevailing training system in Finger Lakes?
@HaywardOV5 жыл бұрын
1. Ultimately it would depend on the region and the varieties of grapes grown, although I don’t believe it is common. 2. That is a very good question, one that will require a lot more vineyard tours to determine the answer...

In which growing region(s) is the basket system used? Is there any advantage to this admittedly odd-looking trellis system?
@HaywardOV5 жыл бұрын
The basket system was originally from Santorini, Greece, but are more recently found in South Australia regions like Coonawarra and Padthaway. The system would most likely be used in dry warm climates with high winds, as this would help protect the clusters.

Assuming that your need a wider row spacing to install lyre canopy, does the increase in grape quality out way the loss in yield you may have with the less vines on your vineyard. In other words, do the benefits out way your costs?

When comparing a single-curtain-trained with lyre-trained vines of Cabernet Sauvignon they resulted in similar yields for the two systems, therefore I would think that the benefits don’t outweigh the costs.
