My mom was at our cabin in Pine Valley and an elk came into the yard and she thinks it was eating some of the apples off the three apple trees we had . The people said that elk didn't come into Pine Valley. The deer were like pets there were so many.

In northern Saskatchewan along the Churchill River found some hand painting done many years ago, very remote, very spiritual along an tributary, Even the few local natives up there who trap, do not know the history. Bears - working in the bush in N Alberta encounters within 20 meters. What is spooky is going back to the same site the next day and seeing timber wolf tracks. Love the bush up there

It is so nice to see people like yourself that have family with ones they worked for. I mainly just stalk animals and take pics, maybe get back into bow again. Its only -18 here in Saskatchewan, got a big dump of snow. still planning on doing some winter camping. My old Avalanche with a 2" lift will only go so far. but I have snowshoes to get in further. Keep on doing the same things I love. Take care

I don’t know, But hearing the story the first thing I thought of was, it would be good practice for your bow. Just get some cheap arrows.

I never heard of squirrel cobbler before. Good call adding the peaches. I'm sure it cuts down on the gaminess of the meat.

-Sad, but good for you to be at your old home. I stayed away from my home and family for 13 yrs. I stayed away because memories of sevre abuse surfaced. They were hard to deal with and get past, but i did. I'm so thankful for the Lotd Jesus Christ, who healed me, strengthend me and teaches me. Jesus is truly King!

I love my Tikka, Bergara and my Savage. But the Tikka and Begara are more accurate. Bore scoping the barrels is interesting. Two have real nice and pretty rifling while one is a nasty pitted mess that needs to have the copper removed every 25 shots. Guess what one it is? But after cleaning the copper out, it still shoots 3/4". But the other two are still tighter

They carry Bubonic Plague. Do NOT handle them. Use a cheap harbor freight trash picker upper. I just had a GS set up home between stairs and a retaining wall, and in two days did significant damage. My .25 FX Impact with slugs put its lights out.

Can you eat them--like tree squirrels?
@JefesAdventures2 күн бұрын
It is advised that you do not eat them. Since they live in the ground. They have a bunch of diseases that tree squirrels do not have.

May I suggest my mom's Finnlander trap. Works 24-7. 5 gallon bucket, fill 3/4 full of water. Pour sunflower seeds almost to top of bucket. Place a small board for them to gain access to the middle of the bucket. They'll jump down into the seeds, get tired of swimming and problem solved. Trust me, empty and reset daily

Tree squirrels are a menus. The chew their way into a house. Then they chew the wiring. They eat the fruit from your garden and orchards.

I say this constructively. Y'all need to get with an experienced shooting coach, seriously. Not one of you of following thru correctly at all. Rhett's bow arm needs LOTS of work. Every single shot needs to be executed the exact same way in order to gain consistent arrow placement at the target. Some decent coaching and a few thousand shots ( trust me, it really doesn't take that long to get a few thousand shots off over 3 or 4 months time) and you gentlemen will be able to walk into the woods with supreme confidence. That is a win win for both you and what ever it is you elect to hunt.
