Great job gang, as usual. Luv the old tv duckpin commercials 😊 sure wish old man Sherman had business knowledge. He could have maintained 51% control for his patent technology on the pin deck sweeper by selling to the right honest business partners. Too sad to think about it. Duckpins could be much bigger other than greedy land grabbing like selling off drive-in movie theaters property also. Corporate Greed ! Am I right or is there other scenarios in play ? Just my 2 cents worth !😊

David, thank you so much for showing this episode. I bowled in leagues here in 1974 etc. Fontana Bowlarama gone but not forgotten. I enjoy seeing Iconic bowlers in their prime. Incredible pin totals with historic averages above 160. Amazing ! The best of the best from years past. 😊Spectacular Finish !

My dad is Tom Ogle. This was the one and only time my dad qualified and won. Hope one day I can do the same and win more than 1 tour.

Parkville Bowling Lanes is located in Parkville, Maryland. It's on the northern tip of Baltimore City just a couple miles inside the beltway.

@@stever6885 We were just there a couple months ago for the Pop Whitten Pro Tour. If it's a slow month, we will cover one of their monthly tournaments. Usually in the winter months.

Definitely interesting seeing a 2-hander in duckpins, especially nearly 30 years before it became popular in 10-pins.

There were some tenpin bowlers doing it back in the day, but this might predate them. Also doing it in duckpins is way more interesting imo

All the way back in 87 I opened a game with a 6 bagger and finished with a 211. Never came that close to 200 again gratz.

It looks like the bowler is not in control of waiting to clear deadwood and waiting for more pins to get knocked down. Is the machine clearing the deadwood automatically ?
@duckpins4ever2 ай бұрын
Yes, Highland has automatic deadwood and reset cycles.

Watching Jack's curve almost reminds me of the tenpin hook my father had when he threw ducks. Kudos to Phil D on the 214 and the closing 5-bagger. BMP

Jeeze I was 19 in 80 going through a tenpin phase til 86. My home house at the time was Greenway Crain Hwy which burned down in 1993. We still have the 40 lane AMF Southwest outside of Baltimore. At age almost 63 still love Ducks. Thanks for posting. 😊

Just wondering what equipment you all use to record video/sound and edit. Thanks!
@duckpins4ever4 ай бұрын
No problem! The camera is a Canon VIXIA HF G50. For audio have a small Rode VideoMicro Compact shotgun microphone. Significantly improves audio down lane compared to the camera microphone. If you are looking for cheap alternative, your cell phone probably has a good enough camera and all you would need is a mount and a decent microphone. Make sure you use 60fps recording, as I think 30fps isn't very good. Editing is a bit of an issue for us, as my current desktop isn't particularly powerful so I try to keep the processing workflow low. To which Windows Movie Maker does the job well enough if you upgrade the default settings. We do have a license to DaVinci Resolve that once we upgrade my desktop we will start using.

David, thanks for this historic old school duckpin video. Sad to see, this house closed its doors in 2013. Bell bottom pants ! The person that shot this video did an excellent job. The camera back then had some weight to them. Plus considering adjusting zoom with focus kept us on our toes. 😊you never saw bowlers in this era lob the ball half way down the alley, like now days. These guys knew how to bowl, the averages proved it. Video speaks for itself.😊
