Yeah i knew they had to be terrible. I’ve smelled weird odors from my friends in college and everyone I’ve ever seen actually use it just tosses the craziest stuff down there. I’d rather just have a clog net catch it

The only way are you going to get a gease clog from a garbage disposal if you are putting fat scraps of meat in it. And that would clog the trap below the disposal first or in the disposal itself. Now of course pouring grease down a drain can clog sewer lines , but that has nothing to do with the disposal other than added bits to the grease clog. Never pour grease/fat down any drain, disposal or not. Weird to see 2 inch copper used as sewer/drain pipe.

And that's why in Europe we don't have garbage disposal in our sinks we just have a garbage bag.

I have a garbage disposal, but never intentionally try to throw anything down it. I'll have lil bits of food from washing dishes, which the disposal takes care of easy peasy. Without it all those lil bits might end up clogging, so I think it's worth it.

Never had one never need one.

Why americans use copper pipes? Waste of copper bcs it corrodes and makes your water dirty and everything, just use plastic

Odd, we had a disposal but it had like a canister that you would have to empty and we never had a clog not even when we had the deli running.

there's a difference between putting grease down the drain and soft food in a gargabe disposal. I've had a disposal for 20 years and NEVER had a plumber worthy clog.

I have put anything down my drain for 30 years and nothing has gotten clogged or even slowed down a single time.

I like garbage disposals... Not to dump clog gable but to shred egg shells.

„Garbage disposals“ are just such an american unnecessary thing to have. Do it like the rest of the world and throw your trash in the bin where it belongs and clean your sink‘s drain like normal people 🤷‍♂️ Trash does not belong into the canalisation

Look fella. I get you're a plumber, but a banana peel is not gonna cause a grease clog. Fat and grease cause grease clogs. This isn't from the garbage disposal directly. It's from stuff that would clog any sink and belongs in the trash.

Get a bladder. Google it

Im a 2nd year plumbing apprentice, you are not allowed to reduce the pipe size for drains.

I have never understood people that put egg shells and stuff like that down the garbage disposal! Might as well throw your old socks down there while you're at it!🤦‍♀️

Only time I use the garbage disposal is for stuff I know ain't gonna clog it, which limits me to basically wet coffee grounds. Everything else goes in the trash.

That's not what the disposal is even for, it's to unclog the sink after you're done washing dishes
