Nice to see you back! Like I told you before, I hope this meta at least gives you something you enjoy seeing. I agree about the classes, and that's why I always feel dual class should be a little more short lived. After a few weeks, more people spam the same classes, and balance is usually further off when there's 110 combinations in place. For me, I'm happy as long as I keep trying different stuff even though it's not my favorite meta, and I hope to post a bunch of different combinations on YT with different archetypes and ways of winning 😄

100% makes this combination crazy! The issue is that it can feel quite bad to have DH as a class if you miss out on the key cards then.

I can't wait to get my own crazy Tess deck! Tess is always fun, and dual class just makes it completely nuts! I've faced several Tess decks now and they all do the crazy things you're mentioning.

Yep I agree for sure! Skill is always a factor, and I think reaching the skill cap in arena nowadays is even harder than it was in the past, and it keeps getting harder, but so has variance increased. A good player can still have great runs in all metas, this one included, but compared to the last meta with the curated pool for example, there are more instances of drafts/runs in which many things go wrong - bad draft rng, appropriate synergy risk in draft that doesn't pay off, bad draw (present in all metas tbf), and difference in deck quality and rng aspects in game.

Yeah the cove went crazy in this deck! And I agree, this deck wasn't the most insane one, but it cruised on the basis of big swing turns. I think my opponents probably looked weaker than their actual decks were, simply because of those overwhelming turns with cove, but I 100% have faced much stronger decks even at much lower wins, and that was part of the luck of this run and the nature of variance in arena nowadays. And yes, I have played on all servers. I don't really do it much anymore, but I used to attempt high leaderboard finishes on all 3 servers up until a year ago or so. Once the variance of arena increased and I was happy with multiple top 10 finishes on all 3 servers + a #1 finish too, I stopped doing this. Asia was always a harder server, or rather, had higher variance in opponents historically (not sure nowadays) - this led to some runs where you can barely go 5, then some runs where you cruise along, in a similar way to how modern deck quality variance is.

​@@DoseofCoffee Yeah I watched a few of your dual class arena on KZbin. And definitely saw many better opponent decks at low wins. Still, I think this run's opponents decks up to 8-1 is relatively weak (I watched up to 8-1) and yeah, it's variance. I play on the Asia server and avg 5.5 sth. Nowadays it's very hard to past 7 wins unless your deck is really good. Once you hit like 6-7 wins, you will face many very good decks. In this meta, conductivity and digging/cryopreservation together is so fucking broken...

@@Letsgo_NMIXX Asia averages were also significantly increased last meta. If you look at the leaderboards, all servers have similar top averages, with last meta having several above 8 and many above 7 (even on Asia), and this meta with much less above 7. I think it's more to do with this meta being high variance than the server to be honest with you, but Asia does seem to have a larger number of new and/or throwaway accounts and a large number of hardcore players, making the experience a little more volatile. Also, conductivity is dumb. 😂

@@DoseofCoffee My opponent just played Reap what you saw, double digging, burrow buster and got azerite Murloc on turn 8. This is my 0-1 game LOL.

@@Letsgo_NMIXX Yeah that sucks. You're not alone though trust me. I've faced much more crazy things even at 0-2 and 1-2. Heck I think I faced a Dr. Hollidae on turn 4 (with coin) into conductivity + digging and then Azerite Murloc on turn 7 at 1-2 last time. I've even faced Warriors that played their SECOND Azerite Ox on turn 8 after excavating 8 times at scores like 2-2. Now granted, I play a lot so in the same way I will get crazy games my way, I will also face crazy games like this, but I just want you to know, even based from what everyone tells me in chat, that these things happen to everyone, on all servers, at all times, and unfortunately, irrespective of win/loss ratios.

Sometimes people make mistakes, and sometimes people are persistent because they're basing it off information that is incorrect (for example not knowing how a card works). It's part of streaming in the end 😂 And hey, I've been wrong sometimes too and chat was right (but don't tell them) 😅

Yeah for sure! Thank you! 😊 That was an extra run I did AFTER an already longer than normal stream. I think it was almost an 11 hour stream in the end, so it had to have been a good run for everyone for it to keep me going (and maybe I was partially delirious towards the end too 🤣)

That happens sometimes! I will say though, the Orb doesn't need you to have the most insane list of spells for it to be solid. It would obviously be great if you could have some spells at each mana cost, but that's not always the case. I sincerely believe that it's riskier to go Hagatha, because you can very easily whiff on the large spells needed to make it actually good, but in the end, both legendaries have some risks associated with them. Sounds like you had a blast of a deck though at least!

@@DoseofCoffee ya was a sweet deck, 1234 curve, 1 5,6,7 cost then the three spells, just couldnt generate the right answers during my defeats, thought id go the distance lol

Can never say for sure, but seems like a Chinese player to me rather than anything. Curve + RNG have nothing to do with an account having a lot of gold from botting, but the rest of the stuff could be anything. It was a 5-0 deck, so I expect premium stuff regardless what it was.

I hope you still enjoy HS in some way, maybe that's just watching content for you. I would suggest one thing if you get a lot of DCs and buggy boards though, maybe it's something worth a try if you're interested - try a scan and repair of the game (through battle net), or a fresh re-install. Although DCs have become a little more common nowadays because of some server issues, buggy boards should not really be a thing unless you have some corrupted game files which have nothing to do with the game. Either way, glad you love these arena runs, and I hope it's something that keeps HS alive for you 😊

Arena has always had these big swings in variance, but with the standard rotation, we've got only the most modern cards with the biggest swings. You've got the class variance, the draft variance (whether you get the cards or not) and all the in game RNG added on to it. The biggest issue to me is that we went from a curated pool (that tried it's best to minimize draft variance and balance classes) straight into a full set standard rotation, so the contrast is stark. Still some sweet games and runs in there, but it's not for everyone. Hope you find something you enjoy in it though 😄

I like Valet for value, but on board/curve it's worse than a Sen'jin really and truly. Worg really bridges the early game to the mid-game well, and makes up for starting with an understatted 2 drop. I like Valet, but I just felt Worg fit the deck better. I did get the 12, but you never know, maybe Valet lets me get that rare 13 wins :P
