I have a cannon Foe me it is the most unhealthiest vihicle I ever had bought. And under their bulshit 7 year warranty, they threw me out. These are my issues, including 3 other people who have driven it. One of them was from the service centre. CANON UTE NOTES Here is a good one for you guys, and I would like to know if anybody else suffers. I have bought a 2023 GWM canon ute i have big issues in the cabin. I don't know if it's due to noise As I start the ute, I hear what I believe is a low velocity sound. This happens in idle or driving. Or is it air pressure or fumes coming in ? I do have a canopy at the back. Simtoms. (Test while been in the ute) MRI SCAN-- swollen throat AUDIOLOGY TEST -- fulness & loss of. Hearing NERVE PAIN-- at the back of my neck Feelings like my head is too heavy for my neck EYES-- feeling of a burning sentation BODY TEMPERATURE -- high THYROIDS--beating high CARBON MONOXIDE--negative in my In my blood test HEADACHE - it comes from the nerves around my neck and travels upwards, Please, this is not a joke. Are there more people suffering like me ? From the later model cars The GWM canon ute warranty comes with 7 years, but the company doesn't give a dam All the above tests have been conducted by a hospital, but they have no clue way this is happening Any suggestions appreciated [email protected]

what a time to be alive, when I was a kid my mum had awesome biceps from driving around a long bed late 80s Bravo Mazda ute with no power steering and honestly no power; 60kw tops. 120w is plenty for a ute that cheap that comes with AC and a bed of any kind.

Not a box problem. It’s actually not the one used in the ford as that’s a 6 speed. Probably the same as the one in the srt Jeep that I had or the x5. It’s a brilliant box. It’s highlighting the gutless 2L motor 😢

Best thing I ever did to my D5 Delica 2.4L Diesel. I took it back to the company that put it in, the next day and told the guy I watched his offsider fit the TC but I didn't notice the other two guys pull the 4 cylinder out and drop in the V8🤣. Thanks for sharing this as i am just about to buy an X which has a TC fitted so it should already go like the powers.

After this I'm going to see if you did another review after you fitted the throttle controller. I took one of these for a test drive and when I took it back I complained about the amount of lag and lack of power, the salesman said straight up, everyone fits a TC because it's only a single turbo 2L.

Apparently putting the driving mode in power can help cruise control to hold the gears longer and be more aggressive on the downshift up hills

I did have a 2022 GWM Cannon 4x2 I now have a 2023 GWM Cannon X. In which time I have learned by shifting the control from Normal or Eco to Sport (its fast) solves the lag when pulling into traffic. I find I can flick through the controls while on the open road with ease for a quick burst when over taking or drop to normal for steep gradients. Basically I manipulate the gear changing as if I were driving a manual .

Yes Sports mode works fine thanks should not have to do this

I have a 2021 H6 Ultra, and the throttle lag is the same for this model. It uses the 7 speed from ZF. Facebook groups say that the throttle controller is the immediate fixfor it. I personally don't care much as the missus drives it 90% of the time, while I ride my motorcycles and thrash my little 1998 Grand Vitara while on fishing trips (bought it for $4k so I literally dont care if I write it off). I'm thinking of getting either the Cannon X or XSR when my fishing rig does eventually die, so I'll get a throttle controller for it when I make the purchase.

I ve got the X, and yes the cruise control is not the best unless you use the car on sport mode. My question is, where everyone takes their cars that you need all this modifications , bigger wheels, lifts etc....? You probably do 80% or more driving on the freeway, what s the point of all this money on top of it? didn t we buy this ute to save money? lol

Love the vid mate. Keep em coming! We just bought a Connon L as a second car and are just blown away at how great it actually is! Yours must be fun with the twin lockers! Very capable vehicle and heaps of features for the price! Oh, and and can't forget to mention the 7 year/unlimited km warranty! Can not beat that! That was the main reason we gave the GWM a good look over most other utes.😊 Think about that, haters.... I'm just sayin...

Here’s a Quick tip put your Cannon in Sports mode when you use cruise control it will sort the gearshifts out so much better on the freeway. In standard mode it won’t shift down when coming to a hill and it’s frustrating But keep it in Sport and it’s bloody fantastic works perfectly and there’s no difference in fuel consumption. Hope this one helps

I think your 12k for extras you have bot really thought of all the extra's you are getting and the cost of each. There is no way you could get everything extra on the xsr for 4k. Havung said all this i would have got the cheapest cannon if i had my time back as its less of a risk buying an unproven car if it's cheaper to begin with.

The cruise control is junk, I also have a xsr. I have heard there is an update but haven't had the 5,000km service yet which is when I'm going to ask for the update.

Wow not much positive talk,, I have the 22 X model some minor complaints but I I'm extremely happy with my purchase, as I'm coming from an old 07 Ford ranger and not a $150k BMW,,, had a top line BMW performance sedan and my daughters $1000 corolla was so much more reliable,

I have a Tank 300 which is the same platform as these Cannons, it's a great car but yeah the cruise control is really annoying, mostly when it comes to cornering. If there's even a slight corner the car can slow down by 10-15kms which is really dangerous, especially on a highway with people behind you. I understand if it's a sharp corner but even a slight bend in the road it reduces the speed even though it would be more than capable of taking the corner at the set speed.

Nice to see your perspective of what the XSR is like in the real world! A stack of car for the money! Keep up the good content.

I test drove one a few weeks ago. It drove quite well. One thing I couldn't get past was the 360 camera comes on every time you slow to 15kmph. The button would turn it off, but every time you sped up slowed again, it would come back on. It locks you out of using the screen when the camera is on, too. Couldn't even turn the radio down. Was a deal breaker for me

savage tech just released one, about to get my xsr so will see. I do tend to put my foot all the way down when the light hit green on any car but will see how the xsr does and if i should get it.

I bought the X in 2022 (it had all the improvements by then), $45k, added Fulcrum 2" Lift (excellent, $3k), 32" Maxxis Razor Tyres with 18x9 +20 rims (looks tough, $3k), roller cover ($1.3k), GME UHF, ($450) Interior light ($30), Drivers Grab handle ($120), and I just use Sports mode for cruise including when towing my 2T camper, no issues maintaining 115kmh. For lane keep, just enable lane centring, it steers for you and eliminated the jerking, had that on for 14 months now and never think about it its such an improvement.

FG had a 6-Speed ZF not the 8HP70 that everyone one wants including Landcruiser owners for auto swap they are that good.

Hi i just been given a GWM for my work ute i have gone fron a Nissan D40 that has almost 600,000 i do a avg of 5000 t0 6000 klm a month but im been telling every one that the GWM Cruise Control system is shit your right it just can't maintain the set speed up a hill it just wonts to stay in 8th gear and doesn't know to gear down and if it does gear down will not hold it long enough to reach the set speed so let me know how you get on with the dealer because at the moment i think it a dirty little secret that others know about but are just putting up with its not good enough for a over $40,000 ute .so thanks for your post i was thinking it was just me !!

Very very very slow

the ZF gearbox has the exact same issue with my V6 amarok. I am very certain that fuel consumption wouldn't be sacrificed if it stayed in lower gear for 300rpm longer. I had the another car with VW's own gearbox and a Merc with older 7spd automatic, neither behave like this

cheap chinese trash i sold mine and lost a fortune on it, i was tired of all the little problems !!!
