Those were great times for sure . Car culture in 70's and 80's at its best . Cool cars were plentiful and they didnt cost very much . Parts were plentiful and they didnt cost an arm and a leg and they lasted . Cams didnt wipe during breakin unless you were an idiot . You could even go to the dealership for performance parts also . I miss those days alot before cell phones and the internet . You your car and your girl cruising the local strip . I spent way too much time working on my car constantly improving stuff or just making it better . I also ended up with 9 points on my drivers license for spinning wheels and several speeding tickets .

Badass 🇺🇸.... I always use this footage of the Legend Mr Landy.... As a.. this is how,,, I miss shifting gears so much I actually Left foot Brake... My Daily Driver 68 Dart Grandma special Slant6 to V8 swap... Your Car... Since the relaunch.. I've been a Fan of... 6 speed!.. absolute Must .. I understand completely, Sequential Shift.. etc.... Paddle Shift etc... But only a fool would argue about that.. vs double Clutch, Rev match Shifts... Heel and Toe Down shifts... The Mechanical Link to Driver input... Most won't say it... But they know... It's always going to be Badass.... Someday I will swap to manual 4sp.. Because Real Hot Rods have 3 pedals... Cheers from Orange County California 🇺🇸 @∅

@@AtZero138 Yep...just turned 71k miles. Still runs, and drives like news. The most fun car I have ever had. Had a 2011 Camaro before this. Nice car but the 17' is a step up. Also owned 60s era muscle back in the 70s.

If you watch that 2-3 shift its significantly slower. I find that in my cars too. Why is it that pushing fwd on the shifter just feels a bit odd and uneasy and causes you to not as quickly release the clutch? Ripping rearward and jabbing the clutch in 1-2 and 3-4 just seems natural to me.
@AtZero1386 ай бұрын
Agreed... Never seen it asked... Although I'm positive others , like I l, understand what you mean completely... My theory has been.. Inertia holding us back, the physical movement of leaning fallowed, plus the 2-3 upshift.. we are fighting against that ..

Kind of wild that even back then guys were slamming Chevy V8s in to their weird cars, including Bruce McLaren.

I wouldn't have made it that much of a single cab. I'd have cut it off where the rear windows rolled down, then extended the rear end of the body so the tailgate was flush with the bumper in order to add bed length there, that way it looked more in proportion as an extended cab. I gotta have my interior space to lean back and have some damn subwoofers, y'know?

Hearing French (Canadian) over loud speakers reminds me of the days I travelled with my brother (National Superbike Champion a couple of times) to Sanair, Trois Rivieres, and St-Eustache for the Canadian Superbike series. Nice memories. That was late eighties early nineties, like this video.
