My first car I got back in 82 or 81 not sure was a 1971 Cadillac sedan DeVille that I bought from the original owner old lady I only had 85,000 mi on it it was a nice car for a first car I can blow away a lot of people in a big Cadillac it was very fast with the 472 being an 18 year old boy with the car with the 472 with 375 horsepower and I always put premium in it let it they had back then at 76 in California with 92 octane but it would still ping a little bit.

If you like to see old Cadillacs going fast you ought to check out the video of the guy driving a 70 coupe DeVille around the Nuremberg ring in Germany and doing over a hundred miles an hour flying that big boat it's a great video.

It's my favorite year for Sedan de Villes and Fleetwood Broughams. While 18k is phenomenal, I can't see paying that much with the paint in that condition and the rust inside the rear deck. That's a serious turn off.

Southerncadman Hello, WOW, that's a beautiful classic 1973 Cadillac !! Knowing me being a perfectionist I would definitely have to take care that rust in the window area and under the Vinyl top !! That's only reason why I don't care for Vinyl tops because they trap moisture underneath , but definitely a beautiful car !!🇺🇸🇺🇸💪💪🔥❤️

That color is simply some kind of gorgeous! I would absolutely adore a Lyriq in this shade. *Lacquer Mirage Taupe (sublime American Iron)

1973 was a great year for Caddy as the updates over the 1972 were beautiful. The grill and headlight design looked so much better, as did the rear tailights. The simple style wheel covers were so elegant and timeless. The interior was much improved as well, with much more plush door panels, nicer wood grain trim, and better seat sew styles. The color looks really nice too, and I don't recall seeing many this color. My parents had a 73 SDV with a gold exterior, black vinyl roof, and maize color leather interior. Simply beautiful.

Stunning isn't the word. I wouldn't touch it being totally unmolested and being the original paint. It only makes it more desirable car. Just beautiful

I owned that same car except it was a two door exact same color. It was in 1979 when I was twenty two years old. It had the same leather interior. I loved that car. Unfortunately I had to sell it in 1982 due to financial issues. Oh by the way I paid $2000.00 dollars for it.

Interesting era for Cadillac, both good & bad. I drove a '74 as a daily driver for 6 + years in the mid '80's. No complaints, other than irritating issues with the leaky power steering pump. This old car made long road trips very enjoyable!

Have a '76 Valiant sedan (with the V8 and some really odd options) I was given by the original owner. Was parked in the early '80's, so it was very, very original when I got it- like your Caddy, the seat belt buzzer even works!

0:36 I'm really surprised to see the emblem centered on the forward edge of front hood? I thought ALL Cadillacs had the upright hood ornaments or at least the highest end versions like DeVilles, Eldorado & Fleetwood Broughams. This wasn't a Calais. My Grandmother won a brand-new 1954 Corvette at a raffle. She wasn't a car person at all. When the Dealership delivered it to her house, she asked them to park it in her detached garage in the backyard. After that, she brought out sheets, quilts and blankets to cover the car. Eventually things got placed all around it for storage. She never told anyone she'd won this or had it. In all the years we'd known her, she was very private about her things & no one was allowed in her garage. 53 years later she was in ler late 80s. Her neighbor asked about the car. It took her a while to remember it, then she did. With a stunned look, she asked him what he would charge to take that old junk out of there & get rid of it? He said no, I was going to pay you for it. He then offered her $1,500 for the brand-new 1954 Corvette, white with red interior & convertible top. The car was never registered & had 11 (eleven) miles on the odometer. It looked brand spanking-new like it belonged in a Museum 😮

Thanks for the memories. I had one of these in 1981 or 1982. It had its issues by the time I got it, but it still ranks as one of my all-time favorite cars. A medium blue, blue vinyl top and blue leather interior. I think I paid $1,500.00 at the time.

Back in the day I had a 1973 Sedan de Ville and then a 1974 Fleetwood Brougham d'Elegance. Both great cars, but nothing rides like a Fleetwood of that vintage.

Oh my , that a beautiful survivor Cadillac! That takes me back to 1973! One of my favorites years of my life. For me, I loved how things were back then, the cars, the music, the homes, appliances, shag carpet, harvest gold, big console TV's, Marantz receivers. If I could go back just for a few days . . . . oh the memories! This car brings back so much that I miss. . .

I had a 73 coup . Best car I ever owned. Do you think that vinyl roof may need to come off for rust protection? I know that happened to me. This is a beautiful piece and the price is fair

The lower strip of vinyl below the trim would need to come off to address the surface rust spots, but I think could be reattached. I do not think the entire top needs to be replaced.

I remember as a kid my Uncle had the similar Caddy. I used to get yelled at for playing with the electric windows. All my other relatives had mostly Chevys with manual windows. Even as kids in the 70s we knew that car was something special.
