Great skill, exquisite... but half of India has been using the Lost Wax Method for centuries now: West Bengal, Odisha, Bihar, Chhattisgarh/MP, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, AP/Telengana, Rajasthan... the list goes on. The basic process is the same; the finer points are different. But it should be a far more flourishing art than it is. Truly unfortunate that we can't hold on to it. PS. Must have shared the skill across the region when all this was one, peaceful, happy country... how do we preserve it everywhere?

M. Beenthere: When you look and compare this piece with an industrially made one, can you see and apreciate the difference of qualiy (artistic, of detail, etc) ? We should pay for it...
@nsaneepoly4 жыл бұрын
Definitely we should pay for it. But the bitter truth is, in our country, very few people honour and pay for their creativity.

Items such as these - but of superior quality - have been made throughout the world for centuries. The workers have had better working conditions, tools and technology for at least a hundred tears. By eulogising this sad little group, you are only delaying their much needed move into modernity. Get real! Guide honest labour towards its just deserts.
@evangelineloves95 жыл бұрын
You forget, you can always feel what is imbued through the hands of Humans. Discounting the process, and wishing the phase toward your modernity, is what has made the world a very sad place. Full of seemingly beautiful flawless yet hollow objects, that have no pulse.

I would guess the worker lives in poverty, with few possible exceptions, the shop owner may do slightly better. They must learn to make higher end handicrafts. Tears.
@beentheredonethat68857 жыл бұрын
I agree. Bangladesh and others cannot afford this reactionary sentimentality. I have added my comment.
@nsaneepoly4 жыл бұрын
True..but now a day's many handicraft shop are paying for it.. And the surprising part is, our people also buying it... :)
