This is a nice live/stage recording in that the vocals are more audible than is often the case with live performance mixing. And these fine musicians not only play well but they sing equally well. Imagine too learning a whole popular song repertoire dating from a certain era (from before any of them were born) in a foreign/second language and doing that so well too. I hope people who like this stage show video will patronize the REO Brothers' KZbin channel, which has loads of their studio-setting recordings in which you can hear everything even better. Beatles fans will be especially rewarded and the brothers' recent renderings of FREE AS A BIRD, REAL LOVE, and NOW AND THEN are simply wonderful. My sense as a fellow musician is that this fine band needs an original direction to head next, while still doing covers to whatever extent they and their audience wishes. For that they will need songwriting/arranging as a logical next step and I rather envy them as a songwriter myself--though as someone who doesn't have access to a band to realize my own songs. The Beatles and Beach Boys cultirvated their own songwriting as they went, but early on both that and their stage presence were sometimes in need of 'guidance.' The Beatles got a boost in that department from Brian Epstein, who changed their stage habits/presentation and wardrobe, but in spite of those improvements 'the lads' themselves would occasionally leak through and so you would spot them laughing with each other occasionally when one or them flubbed up lyrics or something else, plus there was that 'spastic routine' that John Lennon would pull on stage with which the others seemed to not quite know how to cope once their stage presentation began to matter even more than it did before. There's footage too of George and John laughing about something during The Beatles' famous Shea Stadium show in (what?) 1965. The early Beach Boys stood with their arms self-consciously folded while they stood on the stage and seemingly nervously lip-synced to their own recordings, but of course they improved later on too. The REO brothers are musicians at heart and seem to pitch in for the group effort/presentation first and foremost. Perhaps at some point they can do some individual (internet broadcast) interviews so that fans can get to know each of the band members a little bit better. If their stage presence seems a little reserved here just remember who they are, where they've come from, how hard they've worked, how generously they give in their performances for audiences, that they are performing in a foreign country, and how young they all still are. While The Beatles became celebrities both as a band and as individuals, these guys so far seem mostly known within their group identity. Where that works to their advantage especially is in their vocal blends which--like The Beach Boys and Bee Gees--benefit from the 'familial resonance.' Vocally, they are very accomplished. Instrumentally, they are entirely capable and talented and they have learned by doing great music for a long time already. As a family of brothers who are probably aware of the tensions over business/money that eventually tore The Beatles apart after the death of Brian Epstein, they have the opportunity to work out equitable business arrangements among them and for a tolerable period ot time so that they also have the opportunity for families/children, etc. too but, if they wish, to also continue performing together for a much longer time than The Beatles had together. But that's up to them. I do think their next needed step is to formulate more of an identifiably original identity for themselves as songwriters/presenters of original/new material at some point, but that is up to them as well. (Meanwhile, Baby Boomers like me get to bask in their fine renditions our our generation's favorite songs.) Songwriting is another, separate skill from performing and recording, and it takes time to develop as well; but they already have the group vehicle practiced up and available to perform, record, and promote their own material if they wish to branch into doing that too. As a songwriter myself let me leave them with just this single bit of encouragement: The more you write and arrange your own songs the easier it gets and the more intuitive it becomes. For writing song lyrics in English you will need a rhyming dictionary (online resources are fine for that), the ability to turn a phrase in idiomatic language, something interesting to write about of universal appeal, an ear for what word combinations will sing well, and something that's well-said in a very short space where every word counts. I have little doubt that these guys can manage the musical arranging for their group once the basic song music/lyrics are ready. Bravo, REO Brothers! I wish you well and much success--Don in Indiana, USA

I'm not convinced that their vocals are live. There are some songs where the guy in the middle is singing but his vocal is double tracked, and in the Beach Boys songs there are four band members singing with mutli tracked vocals. It could be that they use backing tracks to fill out their live vocal sound.

Believe what you want to believe but these guys are legit. Filipino singers don't do lip-syncing like most so cold pop stars these days.

So far this comment is the best compliment for the group. Knowing that the commenter can't believe the range of vocalization this group has is enough indication that the band has reached the stage where they can say, "we made it!"
