Thanks for the great content. We just bought our Streng from the original owners last month. Build in 1971 with only one remodel in the kitchen and bathrooms. Mostly all original and intact. Mine is a flattop Streng in Davis 4 bedroom plan #114

Very glad I came across your channel. My fiancee and I put an offer on this house over the weekend, but were outbid. I had no idea about story behind the home or the individual details (the handles!) until I came across this video. A neighbor shared with me the storage shed and detached garage was added and it is one of the only ones in the neighborhood to have it. I also am a big car guy so the appeal of having the parking was such a positive.

What's the idea with the double head shower how many people lived in that house ? What is mid mode ?

My theory is that of self care and hydro therapy. Take a hot shower on one side and ice cold plunge shower after the hot on the other side and go and back forth for fifteen minutes. my.clevelandclinic.org/health/treatments/23137-hydrotherapy As for Mid Mod that is short for Mid Century Modern. This is a time period of architecture that ran from 1933 to 1966 and stemmed from The Bauhaus founded in 1919 by Walter Gropius in the city of Weimar. This is such a lovely home. I would like to make a friendly suggestion and this is from a grandma 😊 …. I like how you take the time to show the homes in great detail and how you point everything out. However, can we see more house and less “head”? The viewer will be able to see more of the details that you are pointing out. That, coupled with your great explanation and warm and kind demeanor, would greatly enhance your videos. For now, because you have your camera/phone in selfie mode, too often the view is blocked by your head……. If you point your camera away from you, you will be able to frame your view and you actually see how much of the house detail you are explaining (on your screen). I love Mid Century Modern and I love taking photos. Thank you for showing. Please do show your face every now and then as well. This will personalize your presentation.

Hi Alister, I watched this shortly after you posted, and have been meaning to send a comment. My name is Cindy Adams Arvin, and my brother and I grew up in that home. PS, Michi (comment below) is my niece, and my brother's daughter. You did a fabulous job on the video, and I can see how much you appreciated and loved the architecture. It was definitely a magical house growing up, with all the latest gadgets of that era. It was my mom and dad's dream home and they entertained often. We always had friends and neighbors over and had the best of times in that house. A neighbor and friend was the architect, and designed it for extensive storage, entertaining, and function. As Michi mentioned, there was a sailfish that hung on the fireplace in the family room. It now resides in my family room in Placerville. As you said in the video, the house is pretty much original, and not much has changed except for carpet and some painting. I understand you will be hosting open houses this weekend. You are the perfect person to promote such a unique home. Thank you for your efforts!

This was my Grandparents' house. I have so many fond memories in this house. I can confirm that there was in fact a big fish over the fireplace (my Grandfather caught it), and Grandma was definitely the Hostess with the Mostess, and always had a full house on holidays. Thank you so much for taking the time to make such a detailed video and talking about all the features. I really hope that someone will love it and all its MidMod charm. <3

Those cute little doors are for firewood!! Easy access for more wood without it hanging out and getting the room dirty. There are two in this house. One through the panty as you pointed out and one in the laundry room for access to that other living room where the marlin graced the wall. Great video! Love this house and it made me happy to watch all 34 minutes!
