Ahh, how well I remember that ill-fated day, the day I marched my proud Julie army to the base of the hill-a move only a fool would dare attempt. The air was thick with tension, the earth trembling under the weight of unseen forces. To my horror, a thunderous roar erupted as the horde began its relentless charge forward. For a fleeting moment, I considered standing my ground, but doubt crept in, whispering sweet lies of escape. Foolishly, I thought I could outrun destiny. Above it all, Sultan the Serpent stood with his unshakable smirk, his piercing gaze cutting through the chaos. He leaned toward his cunning squire, Arminius, imparting venomous words, “Let the fool die as fools should.” With a flick of his hand, Sultan summoned laughter that echoed across the battlefield, mocking my impending doom. The Greeks, led by the noble Aurelius, stood at the ready-his armor gleaming like a beacon of hope amidst the storm. Aurelius, that steadfast soul, radiated bravery in its purest form. While Arminius held back his Roman foot soldiers as instructed, he had already unleashed his cavalry to share my fate. Yet, it was Aurelius who defied the weight of reason and charged down the hill into the heart of the fray. A true friend, a brother-in-arms, he surged forward into certain death, undeterred by the grim reality that his allies, had vowed not to descend from their elevated sanctuary. The assault that followed was nothing short of cataclysmic. Spark, Spart, and SK orchestrated a devastating strike, their brilliance transforming the battlefield into a symphony of chaos. My heart broke as I watched the Spartans, those paragons of selfless courage, plunge into the abyss with no thought for their own survival. They fought valiantly, their silence in death a testament to their unyielding resolve. And there, atop the mountain, Sultan the Serpent stood victorious, his serpentine smile curling with dark satisfaction. He reveled in the demise of his mortal foe, Cormac the Cruel, who had been reduced to nothing more than dust-no more memorable than a blade of grass crushed underfoot. The battlefield lay still, a grim tableau of sacrifice, betrayal, and fleeting glory. Even now, I find myself overcome with emotion, the memory of that day etched into my soul. The cries of valor and the whispers of treachery-these are the echoes that linger, forever bound to the hill where empires rose and fell.

I've been playing this game with BH and friends for approximately a year now, and this is one of the most interesting battles I've seen so far. Nice, aggressive manouver by Skem at the beginning of the battle, followed by a delicate, tactical retreat to rendezvous with SC and Tabor. There were several critical and pivotal moments in this battle that turned the tide of the battle in our favour. First of all, I was surprised by Lando's decision to walk his troops all the way to the main battle area. From my experience, Lando's main strenght lies in his ability to attack his opponents quickly and aggressively, forcing them to make fatal errors. Had he been in the main battle aera sooner rather than later, his team would have had a clear advantage, given their already favorable tactical positioning. Secondly, at ca. 20:10 into the battle, with the enemy's overwhelming cavalry advantage on our left flank, they could have easily amassed a combined and devestating cavalry charge on SC. Again, had Lando been there sooner, they could have combined that with a full, frontal infantry charge as well. Alternatively, and lastly, at ca. 31:20 min into the battle and after winning the cavalry battle, the enemy should have immidiately followed up with a combined cavalry charge on our rear. That would most definitely have caused most of our units to route and handed the victory to the enemy team. But for some reason they decided to chase the routing cavalry and archers. This gave us just about enough time to conclude the battle with a hammer and anvil attack that routed most of the enemy infantry. I would also like to point out that much of the reason that we won the infantry battle was that Skem did well in communicating clear iminstructions and orders, which made it easier for us to play more like a team. Well done, Skem! Another fun and exciting game with excellent players that bring a big dimension to this ever so timeless game that we all love so dearly. WP all. GG all.

A great upload as usual. Royer's attack on Aurelius' Pharaoh archers was ruthless and implacable. The follow up combined chariot and cavalry attack by Skem and Sultan on Royer's cavalry was equally unrelenting and unmerciful. I'm a bit undecided on whether any of the teams had faction advantage or not. The battle itself was however interesting and unusual considering that the winning team only had one Roman faction. It was also an exciting battle to watch, evidenced by the battle conclusion of "close victory". GG all. Well played all.

What a great upload! This was an interesting and exciting battle indeed. Impressive two sided frontal attack, or "hamburger" attack if you may, by Arminius and the Sultan with their cataphracts against Royer ca. 22:50 minutes into the battle. I was quite impressed by the winning team's defensive strategy towards the end of the game as well. The Sultan's massive cataphract charge into Skem's Macedonian pikemen ca. 35:35 minutes into the battle was epic, but Skem' pikemen were somehow impermeable and withstood the cavalry charge real well. Perhaps a better coordinated and more concentrated, joint attack by the losing teams' cavalry against Skem's Macedonian pikemen would have caused them to route, as they probably intended to do in the first place. Anyway, another great upload by the mighty SC. See you all tonight and over the weekend for some good old RTW battles. GG all. WP all.

What an epic battle. It was quite altruistic and noble of Aurelius to sacrifice his general's unit to ensure the safe passage forhis ally, TR. Strategically it was also the correct thing to do at the moment, as this certain unseøfish move was to the benefit of the whole team. The battle itself was quite interesting. Although our team had a sloght hill advtantage, Ihad a constant feeling of fear from being surrounded, especially with Arminius' cataphracts constantly threatening our rear and flank. Indeed, our team had been forced into a somewhat passive defensive position, with our moves constantly mirroring the enemy armies' moves. Aurelius' deployment of a Spartan shield on our right flank was a mastermove, not only as a safety manouver, but also as a leverage for the rest us to concebtrate our efforts on the enemies in front of us. SC's army did brilliant in holding out against the enemy. I have seen the last half of the battle several times now, and I still don't understand how SC's army stood firm for so long and didn't route from the constant cavalry and cataphract charges from all sides. I myself, at one point, decided to bring my cavalry around our right flank and usem to to charge into the enemy from behind in a wedge formation. I knew that that would give the Parthian cataphracts a somewhat freeway to our rear, so it was critical that I got to do my charge before the Parthians. I didn't. But again, SC's army somehow withheld and survived the Parthian cataphract charge from behind, while my cavaøry charge routed most of the enemy units. The battle was lost for the enemy team at that moment. So what fid I learn from this battle? I know that SC has stated the importance of "a morale based army" in several of his uploads lately, and this battle clearly shows the importance of this. I'm sure that his army would have folded much sooner if he hadn't brought any Legionary 1st cohorts. The same goes with TR employing morale boosting units in his Gaul army. Based upon the above mentioned facts, I will from now on be more critical of my army builds. Thank you again for a very interesting, exciting and highly educational battle upload, SC. We salute you ❤ GG all. WP all.

What a great battle. We always play fun and exciting battles on this map. What an inpressive "sweep and clean" operation by Punisher and Tabor against poor old King Adnan. His infantry had no chance, especially with the rest of us being cut off from him. Well done to Punisher and Tabor there, and a great tactical move by Aurelius to cut us off. Impressive! I think King Adnan did very well with his well upgraded preatorian cavalry though. Another thing that impressed me is how well your sacred band did fighting 3 different factions while "tired". Also impressive was Royer's use of the Gaul chosen swordsmen, who did very well fighting our units. It took several cavalry charges by SR and King Adnan to finally make them route. Another great upload, SC. And great commentary as usual. So much to learn from your uploads, and so entertaning to watch. Thanks again. See you tonight in the RTW lobby. GG all. WP all.

What a fun and exciting battle this was, and not the least interesting. We decided early on that Aurelius and I would move to the left to face off Lando and Tabor, while SC and Adnan would concentrate on Punisher and Royer. On our left flank, Aurelius did an excellent job in holding off Lando and half of Tabor's army. On the right flank, SC did the right thing to attack Royer's Macedonian pikes while Adnan read the game perfectly and charged the flank and rear of the Macedonians with his Parthian cataphracts. "BANG!!!!" The charge was absolutely perfectly timed as Punisher was moving in on SC; a moment later and SC's pikes might have folded. Meanwhile, I was in a stand off with Tabor in the center, and decided to keep the main bulk of my army on stand by, as Aurelius would have been easily overwhelmed by Tabor and Lando if I had moved my army to the right to support SC and Adnan, and the same thing could have happened to SC and Adnan if I had moved my army to the left to support Aurelius. However, I decided early on to support SC and Adnan with my archers, and also sent over 2 urbans and a morale boosting legionary cohort to our right flank in support of SC and Adnan, as soon as I saw Punisher moving in on SC. All in all this was a very interesting game with several interesting tactical dispositions on both teams. I wouldn't say that any of the teams had a faction advantage. That cataphract charge of Adnan's was the battle decicive moment, in my opinion. GG all. WP all. See you all again tonight for some action packed and exciting battles on RTW.

I went backto try this game and I was disappointed. Completely dead and has no players anymore, so refunded it. Also tried the newer one, rome2 and it's bad as usual. They removed all chat from the game due to laws because the UK has black people now. It's still as I forgot and remember now, mostly IQ and unskilled team players who only want to defend a town to win. Not people who want to make balanced fights and have fun, and the lower IQs ruin it because they are like 10 yr olds or mentally crippled; like the ones who think it is 'clever' to have pre-advantages, hills, walls, etc. and not be balanced. TW went the route where they could have catered to adults but they just want to market to 10 yr olds and mentally ill people, just like much of the gayming industry. RTW back in the day had a direction to take and they took the route of making bad games for 12yr olds and now they try to sell recycled junk for 70$ per game. Not a bad move but yea I am still glad I never played that child stuff that started even if they make the money($) and sales, like the COD, TW, and other child junk. In TW with the right players you can have some fun but it is not really a great game. The titles that are more skill or balanced stay with less players, because people show their nature in not wanting to be dominated on an equal field, whether its FPS or RTS. Even so, such titles have the most skilled players in the world on them, like Quake and AoE came to mind. Most people prefer gambling or low iq things for that, so I don't take it seriously at all. I can kinda understand that but I feel like many of them are mentally crippled and the original internet/community I grew up with that playd more skill oriented things, made mods, and other things, made it 'funner' but then it turnedinto garbage.

I guess Romex had a few good drinks going. The reason we won was because JGP and Demon held the enemy's infantry well. Especially Scipio, who did the so troublesome work of holding Greek by Roman faciton, was man of the match in this game. The kill result doesn't matter.

Highly questionable use of the maidens against the cheapest units on the field

HI ,yes i think the Scythian general thought his elite Head Hunting Maidens would sweep aside those cheap hillmen ,BUT armed with anti cavalry spears those hillmen proved quite tough ,then allied cavalry crashed in too to kind of finish off the maidens ,hope you enjoyed the battle ? ,thanks as always for your comments.

Hi Martin, that was a quiet good battle. I think enemy team should have avoided the cav engagement since you guys had the cavalry advantage. Also I believe Arminius had some controlling issue with his cav in some point in the battle. In my opinion those head hunting maidens and Spartans held quiet well. GG ALL WP ALL...

HI Muhammet ,some good observations here ,and yes i thought the Head Hunting Maidens and the Spartans held very well ,and i thought this was an unusual battle as it was fast moving and mobile for a 31k battle ,hope to see you back on RTW SOON !! ,and thanks as always for your comments.

This was an interesting game. I can't remember the last time you played this aggressively, SC! (not counting your combined cavalry and war elephant charge with Numidia last night)😂 Some different, minor tactical dispositions on our team during the early stages of the battle could have, and probably would have, tipped the battle in our favour. But then again, it is always easier to cast judgement in hindsight. Nonetheless, it was a fun and exciting game, played by well seasoned players employing some bold tacticts. I will be looking for some good games again tonight fo sure! 🙂 GG all. WP all.😮

What an exciting battle between two even teams. Great job by Demon and TR to cause a mass route of the enemy troops near the end there, while you had them pinned down in a long and tiresome fight against you. If anything, this battle shows how important a morale based army is. Not only do Legionary Cohorts, druids and screeching women give your army the additional stamina to hold longer against the enemy and tire the them out, but it also dramatically strengthens your team's combined efforts during the battle and thus gives your team a tactical and strategic advantage. I also found it interesting, unusual and fun to see the clash between the Britannia and Selecuid chariots 😂 Thank you for another great upload, SC. GG all. WP all. See you all again tonight for some RTW fun!!!

Hi Martin. Tbh I think we had a massive advantage and, + even if it was a small slope, a higher ground. I barely remember that battle but I remember that TR annoyed me with his char. He consistently drove his char through our inf and broke our inf formation. And it was obvious I was trying to lure one of the strongest faction in their team from main battle and Bubo almost felt for it or he was hoping to catch me. Either easy he didn't fall for it and funny thing is both of our ideas were same "hit the enemy from behind". Despite we had the same idea mine would work better because enemy team center was weaker since they had Gaul in there and our center had better inf and units. GG ALL WP ALL...

Wow, what a game!!! Scorp and I had an agreement that I, given the opportunity, would attack Luke from the get-go, with support from Scorp of course. That is why I decided to go for it in the beginning. However, I was a bit too slow with my blitz attack, which in turn frustrated Scorp 😂 The truth of the matter is that my units were real slow in following my orders in the beginning of the game; lagging or glitching perhaps? Thanks to Scorp for the support though, as my army easily would have been routed without his support. This was a real fun and exciting battle to play, and the conclusion of it - close victory - proved just how tight end even of a battle this was. Could have gone the other way. Well done to Luke for getting over 2k kills. Also some decent kills by SC, Scorp, Get Jacked and Aure. Great teamwork by all players. GG all. Well played all.

HI FESEN ,yes i thought this was a great battle ,and a rare close battle too ,and yes the Triarii on there own might not be that good ,BUT the mixture of experianced Urban Cohorts and Triarii seemed to work quite well against that massive cavalry attack that had the down hill bonus too ,nice tactical movements by both teams ,and good team work by both teams too ,see you next weekend , thanks as always for your comments.

LOL! 😂 Yes indeed! I think what saved my army from routing was a combination of the upgrades on my urbans, 1 morale boosting legionary cohort and of course cav support by Scorp. I also speculate that the Triarii units might have taken the edge off of the enemy cavalry charges.
@fesenjon81
@fesenjon81 Ай бұрын
@@martincommander2119SC, you said that the Triarii units aren't effective against enemy cav. However, could it be that my Triarii units, in unison with upgraded urbans and a legionary cohort, might have proven to be effective against the enemy cav charges in this battle?

16:54 I think had the green/blue romans and the macedonians timed their cavalry charges together. A little better. That probably would have routed the jullii. But much of the time they ended up charging in at seperate times. Weakening the overall potential of the damage. Also, if fire arrows cause panic to your own and allied troops, those arrow barrages may have been doing more harm than good.

Well played by all players. I especially enjoyed Spitfyr's and Barclayman's combined elephant and cataphract attack. Needless to say, I am eager to to join my friends again in the RTW lobby tonight after a week of vacationing in Sicily, where i walked in the footsteps of Lucius Postumius Megellus, Hannibal Gisco and Cicero in the ancient Greek, Carthaganian and Roman city of Agrigentum.
