I'm still an amateur guitar player after 40 years and stumbled upon this video while looking for a tutorial video so I could learn to play it as a birthday gift for my wife next March. Just want to tell you this is the best version of the song I'd ever heard. And I grew up listening to Don Williams. As if your beautiful voice and arrangement weren't enough, you also throw in a combination of Travis picking, finger picking and strumming! Wow! Taylor who?! 😉👍

Gone Home is one of my absolute favorites forever, I was only 8 or 10 yrs old the first time I heard it, Grandpa Jones & The Gospel Quartet were singing it on Hee Haw and I loved it from the start. Now I am 61 and it is as beautiful as ever, and you two covered it so well. You great musicians and singers and really made my day with that one . Thank You Thank You Love Always

I meant to add.....I first heard Ralph and Carter Stanley's early recording of it, then the Johnson Mountain boys version, which is much like the way Heather did it. I love this song and have done it countless times myself. I only wish mine sounded half as good as yours, Heather. Great job! Can't wait to hear more of you.
