It's really sad that employers prefer people who can use post processing software to create generic toolpaths, although most of them have absolutely no actual manual programming skills at all, instead of an actual programmer. For an avid programmer, CAM software like "Mastercam" can be learned pretty proficiently in a matter of just a few weeks of dedication. A "post processor" with no actual programming skills isn't going to learn how to program manually in just a few weeks, and especially not anything parametric, which is a lot more advanced. That could take of couple of dedicated years to learn. Truthfully, the bulk of this could have been programmed manually, and it would have taken about the same amount of time and the effort. There are some cases where this CAM software is needed to more accurately create a part's geometry, and some geometries aren't going to manually be plotted out well. Combining the best of both capabilities is EXACTLY what an employer should want, but don't. CAM software has its own limitations besides limiting the user to not developing a better understanding of how to do it manually. Some parts are actually easier or more efficient to program manually.

What line should I be using? Does 12 pound monofilament work?
@marctexwilson2628
@marctexwilson2628 2 жыл бұрын
🤣 Yes, if you are fishing for "Moby Dick!" Monofilament works just fine as long as it isn't dry rotted. Between the sun and the water, sometimes it goes bad in only a few weeks. 6 or 8 pound test line works just fine if the drag is set carefully.

A real beauty! My wife and I traveled to the Alfred/Wellsville, NY area to bring our daughter for a college visit at Alfred University. Passed by this river today with a wonder about fly fishing the area some day should she want to attend school here for the next 4-5 years. Now back at the Saxon Inn on campus looking up videos and articles from amazing fisherman like you Tex doing your thing! Well done! Nice trout! I hope she goes here. I would love to bring my fly rod on the next and every other visit!!

Used to bowl at Hornell Bowl every weekend back in the day. Always had a better game there than at Crystal Lanes. The lanes reminded me of the old Corning Bowl aka Lisi Lanes back when my former brother in law owned the place. Hornell Bowl was awesome in the 80’s and early 90’s when they had live bands in the lounge. One band in particular, “The Hoggs” out of Rochester used to play there frequently and my parents hired them to play at my sister’s graduation party. Great group of guys. Miss those days. Now I’m just an old fossil that can barely keep the ball between the gutters 🤣 Nice game and thanks for the walk down memory “lane” 🎳

Thanks! Hornell is 1 of my favorite places to bowl. It's really a coin toss between there and "Byllye Lanes" in Bradford PA. I went out to "Crystal Lanes" once a couple of years ago.
