If you click on 'Journeys', it tells you all the pick up points and at which hotel. We got picked up from Novapark Hotel. A few coaches also stop here so be sure to ask the driver if you're not certain your'e on the right coach. Obviously see which stop is closest to where you're staying. The departure times from those locations are also listed as well as price. For the return journey, you just locate the same coach and you get dropped off where your pick up was. @lukelombardi8557 Good question. I booked all our stuff as soon as the dates were announced. Naturally with an event like this, places will bump up prices so it depends on your budget and also what's available. If you're not fussy, have a look on booking.com and see what's around. Could also try airbnb. I couldn't recommend anywhere specific but I'd say wherever you do look, try and find somewhere relatively close to the pickup point. We stayed out of the city so was a pain to get in. Uber didn't like to take the job so often faced cancellations or difficulties finding a pickup.

This trip was in July 2023 (I know...). But I did go for the Litli Hrutur eruption but they closed it off due to the moss fires. There has been an eruption almost every month since December 2023 but it's in a different location (near to Grindavik). I did go back to Iceland again in January this year with my wife for a long weekend but nothing to do with the volcano. And I'm headed back there again in November. If an eruption coincides with my trip, and they don't close it, you can expect me to go see it. I did see the eruption that took place in 2021.
