tape the front glass of your dot, and practice seeing the dot with no background picture, eventually u will be able to place your red dot where you want it without even fully looking
@WeSkatePN6 күн бұрын
It’s just getting an index point it’s not about seeing your dot. It’s about doing the sam movement with every part of your upper body when you draw. If you change one thing like over grip on one hand or drop your head too much you change that index point. It’s about repping that shit

This isn’t an example of barrel harmonics…its barrel flex. If you brace a barrel on an object you can (and see) the barrel flex. Your optic doesn’t…so you miss. The free float hand guard isn’t protecting “harmonics”, its protecting barrel divergence from the optical plane. Bro’s right, don’t support a rifle by the barrel. Science of it is a bit skewed though.
@martinto1386 күн бұрын
It's definitely both... effect of both are less pronounced with shorter and thicker barrel profiles as well. You should look up high speed camera footage of barrel whip. It's crazy how much there is especially on a 20in
@timwebb89605 күн бұрын
@@martinto138 Im fully aware of barrel harmonics, and I agree, both are less affected with shorter, thicker barrels. That said, unless he’s shooting golf balls at 100 yards or farther, then this isn’t “barrel whip” causing a miss. Its flex. Remember, the AR started its life as a non-free float. If barrel harmonics had that kind of impact the AR would have never survived testing.

Focus on the target. Bring the gun to your dominant eye. Never focus on the dot or the surrounding window. The whole point of the dot is to be focused on the target and not the sighting tool.

If you cant find the dot, you have bad habits. Or dont shoot enough. Using the front sight to find the dot is terrible advice.

Going to have to try this as I'm new to a red dot on a handgun. Used red dots before on rifles but never on a pistol.
@PuertoRicanBoi1278 күн бұрын
you don’t find anything magically. it’s vision. small spot on a target and parking your eyes to where you want the dot. it’s not all that interesting or productive to look at the top of the reticle. look where you want bullets to go. that’s it.

Shooting a dot fully occluded was literally eye opening -- When I first tried it I was surprised at just how accurate I could be regardless, and it seems to actually help in bright environments since it provides a reliably dark background for the dot.

There is zero reason to manipulate your stock length for cqb. Marines did cqb in Iraq with 20" barreled M16s and were fucking grim reapers. It comes down to how you manipulate the gun. Not stock length. Plus you never see either top competition or tactical shooters with the stock anywhere near the castle nut. You just don't. Length of pull is important

off topic, trying to make a graphic/sticker, but google images (inspiration) show characters holding it wrong. is that an issue? MANY show the butt stock going under the arm, although they're simply just posing. is it ok to have an illustration of someone posing like that? (not firing or not active). others show it going into the elbow pocket. again, just posing, not shooting. i don't wanna sell something that has an incorrect depiction.

Not telling anyone what to do, but I’ll relay my experience. I used to clean my guns with my bear hands until I made myself seriously ill. I didn’t wash my hands well enough before later rubbing my eyes and eating potato chips. Lead. I wear rubber gloves now.

@lawrencegist2358 0 seconds ago I’m just a homeless disabled USMC veteran with no answers, yet if I am to continue to survive, I know that it requires as you have previously stated, it is important to be ALL of the following: Physically, Emotionally, and Mentally Strong! And I might add that one needs, in my experience, that when times get hard, put one foot in front of the other foot, then F’ing REPEAT until your objective has been achieved - and once achieved, set an even higher and more difficult objective to conquer. My only experience is with the A2 stock, thus as the position gets higher the distance from eyeball to sight increases. This makes the sight aperture appear bigger or smaller relative to the front sight. Yet, interestingly enough these variable relationships do not affect aiming as US Service Rifle Competition participants have proven.

Home defense. Inside 10 yards ... Do you really have 40 ft rooms in your house. 18 people some of them children and almost as many dogs, animal control at the end of my street. I will be using #6 bird shot short shells. In my house ur on the floor with lung penetration and ive got 9 more short shells chambered. No neighbors or doggies down. I will then serve 10 years for practicing home defense in MA.yay
