In regards to the prohibited persons question, a person who has been convicted of a felony in Cali can become a gun owner. If a person has been convicted of a non violent felony, they can get the case dismissed once time is served, probation or parole has ended and fees for restitution have been paid. A person can visit the superior court in which the conviction was handed down. Visit clerks office. Request a hearing date to expunge felony conviction. (It is important that the felony conviction is down graded to misnomer first, then expunged) The clerks office will schedule date. Appear in court, no attorney necessary. Listen carefully. Ask questions, including Your honor, what box do I check on any application moving forward when asked "have you been convicted of a felony" (Very important. ) Feel free again. Most important thing to know afterwards, move forward, grow up and stay out of trouble. While it may be cool to own a firearm legally again! Thats not the most important thing that comes out of getting a conviction expunged. You can now better yourself and build yourself more confidently within a career. Get after it and do right.
