No doubt Ebert whiffed on Full Metal Jacket. Clearly a fine film.

Siskle misunderstood his Ebert whom said go for broke and end up broke and Gene said they didn't even aim for broke, which isn't what "go for broke" means.

I really love the neighborhood that they filmed the on location in California, the little blonde girl heather orourke is truly a girl of the light of the lord Allah she was blessed in many ways and those movies are definitely cursed too many things happened to people of that set

Man oh man did Gene miss out on the 1988 “The Vanishing”. Saw it at 17 on IFC Channel at a pretty depressing time in my life, and it made me think “eh life’s not so bad for me”. Not only was it the first totally non sympathetic movie I’d seen at that point, but the ending simply shook me to the core. Never saw the re make, never want to. But I saw this at a time in my young life where the same year I watched Jacob’s Ladder, and also played the video game Silent Hill 2. All remarkable, all dealing with relationships with women through the man’s perspective, and all 3 completely etched in my psyche and helped formed my taste in film and games. It is still every bit as uncompromising and devastating since it came out.

This is the first American release of "Akira," and the English dubbing plus unappealing visuals reflect the lackluster edition. It will be released again in a few years by Orion, Pioneer, and the superior Criterion Collection.

I really respect the fact that these 2 critics could review their reaction, and understand why they had a different reaction to Home Alone compared to the rest of the public. Truth be told, I resisted watching this movie until the New Year, in 1991! I thought that the kid was really annoying and it didn't seem like an interesting movie. Boy was I wrong when I watched it! It was great! So, why did these 2 critics not like the movie? They were making reference to their own experiences children, and that for them being home alone was such a very scary thought to them and a very scary experience for them as well. That simply isn't the case anymore for a lot of kids.

The biggest problem I have with Football Movies is that they never focus on the Game, how it's played, the strategy involved, how defensive schemes and offensive formations work against each other . It's always about the drama around the people playing the game, rather than the game itself. I want to see a football movie where the drama focuses on that aspect, rather than locker room drama.

The remake of Night of the Living Dead was due to the bodged release of the original, being without Copyright, the Producers didn't make any money, this way, they were able to make a little cash.

So, I have been told someone finally spoke up, and you monsters are allowing bikers and criminals (sometimes the same) access to my hacked operating system in order to terrorize me, so you can get warrants with no evidence and then SEARCH for things to arrest me for (and I'm sure they will also find out that you also killed an innocent dog while trying to look like the "good guys"). There will be NO plea, and you WILL be prosecuted, and I WILL go back to educated LIBERAL fields.
