We just got this exact vehicle a week ago. Loving it…!!!

I have Trail Boss version with 5.3 V8. It has had only one recall to reprogram a data control module which caused my battery to completely discharge. I am worried that my engine may need to be replaced now, since GM believes the engine block is contaminated. I suspect that means the aluminum used for engine block is contaminated with other materials which will eventually cause the engine to fail perhaps while in operation.

Is the 1.3 liter engine found in the Trailblazer available in this vehicle? The 1.2 liter has a timing belt that must be replaced at a specific mileage whereas the 1.3 liter engine has a timing chain that you do not have to have replaced.

The Base LS models are hard to find, but love my 1LS so far after 6 months super reliable getting close to 33mpg.
