I agree with you. We deserve wrath and that is a red flag when it says we deserve a pain-free birth experience. No we deserve hell LOL

Thank you for making this video. I just found out that I’m pregnant so doing a lot of research and planning for birth in December. I’m also a Christian and I love the idea of a very calm labour and delivery but I am conscious of new age beliefs/practices and that they do not align with the word of God. I agree with a lot of the things you said and loved hearing your perspective on hypnobirthing/hypnobabies. I can’t wait to watch more of your videos 😌🤎 so glad I found your account

I wish I would have watched this BEFORE purchasing Hypnobabies. I did a lot of research beforehand and their page "Christianity and Hypnobabies" made me ultimately feel like it was okay to jump in...Unfortunately though, I wish I hadn't! I'm one week in and started to feel some discomfort with some of the things presented. The "I deserve..." suggestion you mentioned was very red-flag to me, and some of the others seemed to scream manifestation and "prosperity gospel." I also noticed that the background song in all the hypnosis tracks is entitled "Enlightenment," which is clearly a new age concept. All of these flags inspired me to do more research, and I stumbled across your video. Christians have a wide degree of beliefs and comfort levels regarding these sorts of things, but something is telling me this is "off" and I've learned it's always best to follow your gut. I emailed the company today asking for a refund...they have a "no refund" policy, so we will see what they say... Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Every time I tried to do hynobabies with my current pregnancy, I had horrible sleep paralysis. One time I listened to it in the room with my husband present and he got sleep paralysis(something that he never experienced before). It was pretty scary for us both. I used it for my last pregnancy but this time being deeper in my faith and spiritual growth. I was uncertain that God wanted me to use it, so I did pray about it. I believe the Lord allowed the sleep paralysis to tell me He didn’t want me to use it. I know some forms of new age meditation can disengage the frontal lobe making you more vulnerable to the enemy’s attacks and I believe this was our experience.

i love this! i’m pregnant with my first and I have been reading hypnobirthing books, listening to hypnobirthing podcasts and birth stories and it’s been incredible and i’ve been learning so much! but as someone who was saved out of the new age, there is a lot to be cautioned of when it comes to manifesting, those self centered affirmations you mentioned and hypnosis itself and the practice of meditating (releasing and opening your mind up) when we should be meditating on Christ and filling our minds with prayer and His presence. I take everything from hypnobirthing but leave out the parts that convict me since i have been doing new age meditation and yoga for years. I use christian hypnobirthing tracks, make my own affirmation cards with scripture and focus on deep prayer with my meditation, knowing that God is in control, not myself. His will, not mine! discernment is key, satan always wants us to open up our minds to “the universe”, manifesting and be self centered, even if it seems innocent if we come into agreement with something that is not of God he can work his way in and begin to change our hearts and minds.

This is just my opinion, but I wanted to share my experience as another perspective of a Christian woman. I used Hypnobabies in 2006 and 2009 when I had my two sons. I’m a Greek Orthodox Christian and found no red flags using this program at all. In fact I was thrilled I stumbled upon it. A woman was using hypnotic techniques in a tv show I was watching on TLC and I thought it was really interesting. I personally didn’t want to use any pain medication but I was very anxious about the pain involved with childbirth. I researched many different programs, and came across Hypnobabies. The tracks aren’t meant to change your mind about things, (religious, or anything else) it is to boost confidence within yourself to have a natural, “pain-free or discomfort-free” delivery. I tried a few Lamaze classes and they only increased my anxiety. Hypnobabies taught me slow deep breathing, focus and being calm from within. The purpose is to “manifest” or see a calm birthing environment for yourself and not think of labor as being “painful”, like it is portrayed in tv and in movies. I don’t think anyone deserves to have a painful birthing experience. Every woman has the right to their own individual birthing experience and I think in this day and age we should be able to manifest a calm birthing environment for ourselves. My doctors and nurses thought it was weird that I asked for low lighting and to direct questions to my husband so I could remain focused on my breathing and meditation, but they went along with my requests and were impressed with the end result. When my priest came to visit me and my son in the hospital he asked how my delivery went and I told him about the whole Hypnobabies experience. He actually thought it was an amazing tool to use to keep me calm and was really impressed that I didn’t need to take any pain medication at all. I wouldn’t discount this or steer women away from this program altogether. There is enough information and affirmations they can use, throughout the program, to not cause any anxiety about whether it interferes with your faith. I don’t think it is the intention of the creators of the program to cause one to be alarmed. I’ll bet they weren’t even thinking of people’s religion or beliefs. To me it was a really wonderful tool to help me through both of my deliveries. It also helps to create a quiet and calm environment for your babies once they enter this world. Even the doctors and nurses were impressed with how well I did. My first son’s heart rate dropped into single digits right before he was born and instead of being freaked out or scared, I stayed focused on my breathing, followed doctors instructions and pushed him out without pain medication or needing a c-section -which they had begun prepping me for. My son was born healthy and with no side effects. I think sharing your experience with this program is really good, and I’m glad you weren’t totally negative about it. It does offer a really nice alternative to the traditional “scary” deliveries. ☺️

Our kids are similar ages. My oldest is also doing kindergarten homeschool this year. I'm really focussing on getting my baby into a nap routine so that we have an hour or so to focus on Language arts and math. Another habit we are working on is to start our day with our 'morning basket' (scripture, reading together etc) and to not just jump into our bookwork. For us, this means starting the day early and deligently as we have activities outside of the house most late mornings 😅

Hello Kate! We go back to school this Friday and the one habit I am aiming for the month of September is one hour outside daily. Once we go back to school life schedules seems to take over and we spend more time inside. You are such an inspiration and I am so happy you are back regularly here on KZbin. I cannot wait to continue being inspired by you through this school year. Sending the Santana Troop a Huge Hug ❤

Since I am pregnant with a due date of Jan, I have been working to have our homeschooled children (Both JHS age) learn the importance of being diligent in their work. Its easy for them to get distracted which I know is common for teens and tweens but I've noticed a huge difference since we started following a routine the beginning of August. I've also finally gotten my two year old on a sleep schedule which insures a flow during the school day for the older ones. lol

So happy to see another video from your beautiful family! One thing we're trying to implement this year is a solid morning and night routine where both of our 4yr old twins will easily know what happens next, when it's time to "work" or complete a task and when it's time to only focus on play and be silly. We're also trying to get to the library more often or the free little libraries around the neighborhood vs purchasing books, although most are pre-loved, the cost and overflowing bookshelves add up. I just love books so much it's so hard to let any go. I think I might need a support group for this addiction.😊 Thanks for sharing with us & providing some inspiration and motivation!

I loved seeing this after watching your home birth for baby Asher. I had a home birth for our second daughter and we’re pregnant with baby #3, almost 12 weeks too, and planning another home birth. We’re also planning on having a surprise gender, but we feel like we might have our first boy, as well. God knows. We will be happy either way 🥰 Can I ask why you didn’t do hypnobirthing this time? We did it for our second baby and it helped tremendously. I was able to relax and breathe through my contractions, having a peaceful, beautiful, and blessed birth. I was able to focus on the Lord, His Word, worshipping Him, and trusting that He designed my body and baby perfectly for this birth. It was one of the biggest blessings to my birth and helped my truly meditate on the goodness of God and embrace the process. Did you end up doing the Bradley Method?
@kbutrie
@kbutrie Жыл бұрын
It’s a lot to type but I tried to use it for Eden (baby 2) and feel like the Lord led me away from it and I wasn’t able to use it! I made a video on it if you look back a few on my channel! Ultimately I wanted to be able to listen to my playlist and not the hypnobirthing tracks, and yes I did use the Bradley method in a sense because the relaxation techniques helped a lot. However for true Bradley Method you have to be in bed the whole time which I obviously didn’t do. I still think it was good to read the book because I used a lot of the strategies!! Surprise gender was the best decision!! I hope all goes smoothly for you in the pregnancy and birth and postpartum as well 🩵🩵🩵

Seemed impossible but seeing how the bloating and pain receded within approximately two months made all the difference, I used what discussed the other day, well, it really took about 10 weeks for it to totally shrink and vanish. I'm a homeschool nanny, not a mom (unless you count my cat). My first homeschool nanny family was Waldorf. This family now just pulled their oldest from a Waldorf school then found out about me as a nanny and hired me. Now that I'm working for them, I see they aren't particularly Waldorf so I'm looking at all the pedagogues out there and hoping to blend them. I'm definitely a fan of better play. I also watched a 2 year old for a while whose mom was very loosely Montessori. We weren't teacher or child led strictly. I would watch him and make suggestions building on what he was doing. I am also a fan of keeping academics out until 6 or 7 years old (Waldorf starts them at 7). I like to concentrate on motor skills in the early years. I think the habits aspect, too, is a great idea that I may already be working on without thinking about it. I know I tried to teach a 5 year old not to walk on all the neighbors lawns.

Important and insightful. I am currently beginning elementary Montessori with our 3 year old and am puzzled that it is not being accepted by the child who is otherwise self-led anyway.
