Where would be the best part to enter in stittsville to get the longest route
@scenesfromearth46664 ай бұрын
@MrTacoJay I come from Ottawa and join that railtrail at Robertson Rd in Bells Corners, and ride it through Stitsville to CarletonPlace. The rail trail crosses Stittsville Main Street (water fountain to refill bottles) and onwards all the way to Carleton Place. If coming from Ottawa, you can get to take bike paths all the way to that Robertson Rd point. Check Google Maps. Have a great ride!

@@scenesfromearth4666hey thanks for the reply. I’m coming from Kemptville area. But I’d probably drive up to a good point and ride from there

Wow, it must be close to two decades if not more since I've biked down that way, when I lived on Casgrain between Beaubien and des Carrières! Amazing how much things have changed: I used to take that route regularly when I lived further east on Cartier between Rosemont and des Carrières in the 1990s. I'll have to go down past Lafontaine Park: I see they took out the old bike path just next to and a bit higher than the walkway closer to the ponds; I don't like the apparent crossover you're forced to do halfway or so down to Sherbrooke though.

Please, get rid of the music. It ruins the video.

Thanks for the feedback. A tricky thing with riding videos and with my GoPro 8 is that the audio tends to be poor. And if I opt to speed up the video for viewers to see more in less time, that original audio is even more unusable. Rather than remove poor audio and have no audio track, or have sped-up audio, I prefer to choose tasteful music that is not overpowering. It's also tricky to find music to please all tastes. Hopefully that helps provide some context and I hope you still enjoyed the video and riding around that great city. Cheers.

So much good cycling in Canada's Nova Scotia. This is a great and quiet route into the hills. Did you enjoy the video? Where are you watching from? Thanks for watching!

Correction to the helicopter model captions. Kind people who know far more than I do have clarified that the aircraft in question are an Airbus AS350 B3e and a Bell 407. I will happily go for a ride in either! Beautiful aircraft in any case.

I hope you enjoy the video. Perhaps you live on Grand Manan, you've visited before, or perhaps you are watching from afar, please let me know. Grand Manan Island is a truly wonderful setting in the Bay of Fundy, about 90mins by ferry from mainland New Brunswick on Canada's east coast and the Atlantic Ocean.

helicopter #2 is a bell 407
@scenesfromearth4666 Жыл бұрын
Awesome, thanks! Just looked up the Bell 407. Aha, that explains why I was sure was seeing four blades but it's often hard with video and frame speeds. giving a semblance of 2 or 4 blades. Great, will make the change to the description.

Thanks Stephen. Is the B3e in relation to the Airbus or is that a variant of the Bell 407?

What tires for this?
@scenesfromearth46663 жыл бұрын
Hey King Kanza. Pretty much any tire (road, MTB, hybrid, or other) works. While the trail surface was a little soft in a few remaining places of shade or thicker tree coverage last weekend, I was on 700x25 slick road tires last weekend. I'd say for most people, a little wider tires are the usual but test it out and see how it goes. Unless just after a big rain, for most of the riding season, the Stittsville to Carleton Place road trail is very firm and most of it has a very thin coat of fine gravel. Easy traction. Awesome ride. Let me know how it goes.

No offense but your breathing seems stressed a bit.. There's a good rule of thumb I try to embrace which is my breathing should almost be in full cadence with my step or strides and usually. Makes for the best and most comfortable runs and good for endurance.. I nose breathe about 80% if my runs to get that, sync going and when I need to I take a fulll proper breath in and exhale out through the mouth and then back to nose breathing.. Allows u to get in the zen meditation flow when ur out there
@scenesfromearth46663 жыл бұрын
No offence taken. My breathing was fine thanks. Having the GoPro's microphone 2inches from one's nose and mouth over-captures the breathing sound. It's nice to get the forest sounds and footsteps audio but unfortunately any sound capture is dominated by breathing. To boot, one knows that while running, so in trying to breath as quietly as possible on those climbs, it might sound a bit laboured but fortunately it was not. Cheers.
@joshb55003 жыл бұрын
@@scenesfromearth4666 ohh Roger that! Have you ever tried nose breathing while running? I find it just gets me in the zone faster than not focusing on that I dunno I see to enjoy it all around more in that circumstance..cheers!

Disappointed that a safe boda is riding the pavement like all the other idiot boda boda riders. Surely there should be a difference as safe boda are better trained
@scenesfromearth46664 жыл бұрын
I agree Ron. Without police clamping down on poor boda driver practices, it's hard to avoid this happening. But, it's also why in my episode on boda boda/motocycle taxi safety, I recommend that people take responsibility for their safety and tell the driver to smarten up with their driving: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJXXgaOkqtqepac A Kampala friend of mine had a habit of telling each of his boda drivers that any tip depended on safe driving, worked like a charm, he said. Keep well.
