I guess solo dancer was uzbek dance. It is truly fascinating!! And I see that uzbek dance and azeri have some similarities. We do the same gestures: uzbeks do it quickly, wheras we dance slowly. I mean women dance

No, the whole performamce was a Persian Tajik dance. Both Uzbek and Azeri dances are copied versions of classical Persian dance. Without Persian dance, there would be no Uzbek or Azeri dance.

nice song but why Afghan song? I know thet are extremely popular in Tajikistan and Iran but they should use Tajiki songs for this

This isn't an "Afghan" song. It's a Persian Tajik song. Both Afghanistan and Tajikistan were provinces of Iran. Tajik, Afghan and Iranian songs are all Persian and Iranian songs dominate the Persianate World.

The saddest thing of all is that these beautiful Persian dances that were part of Iranian culture for hundreds of years are no longer seen in Iran today. It is forbidden under conservative Islam. There are no longer dance companies where this kind of dance is being taught and nurtured. Persian classical and folk dances are now being preserved by companies like Ballet Afsaneh in the US, and in European countries. For how long is a big question

Captivated, of course, by Miriam Peretz, and the gentleman playing the gorosh. I'm kinda wild, so this music suits me just fine. At least some music gets this old horse up and about. Thanks for posting Ballet Asfaneh!

Tall and beautiful Afghan girls, dance with grace and elegance. Good to see something enjoyable about Afghanistan. Girls you are promoting a part of Pure Afghani culture, All the Best! btw, why not "Afsana" instead of "Afsaneh".. or probably "Raqs" instead of Ballet? just my opinion :)
