I love my face that way more than applying any foundation as at the end it's anyhow going to make my face look cakey and make my scars visible more. Still, if i have to attend parties where I can't go without makeup, i use a moisturizer and then the primer and 'hydrating' foundation. I try to get a dewy makeup look, as i personally experienced that matte look makes my scars worse.

I have acne scars too and its fkd up i battled cystic acne since i was13 and im now 60 yrs old the cystic acne went away now i have subtype 2 roscea its roscea with acne like bumps unfortunately. It makes me look older. I tryed microneedling retin A and light peels with no luck. Im so sick of it my skin is super sensitive im allergic to alot of products so it sucks and i hate wearing makeup cause of it plus it makeup makes my roscea flare. I dreamed of clear skin but that will never happen unfortunately. 😢

Hi have you tried the too faced timeless poreless primer in the jar that’s at Ulta. I am a licensed professional mua and I find that primer to be a very smoothing and matte finish for my textured and oily clients.

Thank you so much for making these videos. I am a new subscriber 4/14/24. I have acne scarring. I have spent maybe over $10k over the years on laser resurfacing , radio frequency, micro needling devices and there is some improvement but it didn’t poof disappear. It’s held me back from doing a lot. I’m self conscious and tend to not go out to spare myself the discomfort of feeling like I’m crawling in my skin. It’s exacerbated my anxiety disorder creating social anxiety. Yes, I am in treatment but still am uncomfortable on holiday, over head lighting, daylight. I just want to live. You seem well adjusted. How did you learn to accept the scarring? If you can share some tips on how not to let acne scarring run your life I think it would be really helpful to many ppl. Thanks a million ❤

I have been dealing with acne in my teens. Now I'm left with scars and make up just doesn't really cover. Add surgeries are just too expensive so you just deal with it. You just got to tell yourself you're beautiful no matter what

Hi my skin is the same as yours, I use NYX pore filler after I’ve moisturised and applied primer I then dab my cheeks with translucent powder then I use Maybelline matte Fit Me no. 112 it is light but gives you a good coverage and being matte your scars don’t go away but they don’t look as bad. I’ve suffered most of my life trying to get as good a result as I can and this routine for me suits best, I found applying thick foundation seems to make everything worse. Good luck trying. (I’ve got a draw full of foundations from every make over the years has cost me a fortune)!

I appreciate the honesty. I am looking into laser resurfacing on my cheeks. Makeup will not go smooth over my scars and I accept that. So I am treating the scars

Wow I didn’t expect to see my actual skin texture out here on KZbin. I honestly don’t consider my skin gross, so you don’t have to either. It’s like a bit rugged and that’s cool, it contrasts with our pretty features and makes us more interesting! The best I’ve found to do when I wanna look smooth is moisturise, loose powder, fixing spray, maybeline baby skin primer, maybe a bit more powder and then concealer or foundation, it is quite good def try it if you haven’t

Thanks for your video. We all struggle with different issues, acne scars, large pores,etc. Even after putting a lot of make-up, primers, concealer, foundation, etc we still can see our imperfection. I don't like putting too much on my face either. But as long as we feel good/better after putting on our make-up then we did our best. All beauties are not all from the outside anyway. Truly, I thought it looked better before the make up because the nice coloring of the skin distracts from it. I know it’s so frustrating, but something that’s helped me is to only allow myself to look at it and be hard on myself for five minutes a day, and after that the rule is I can’t think about it!!
