I’m the sculptor MikeDaTike, thank you for showcasing my sculpts! I’ll gladly update some of those sculpts and make them more block-ish to make them far easier to paint 😊

Thanks :) I know everyone has different styles and needs for painting. The whole set of things you offer for 2/3mm are great - just that I prefer the blocks for painting at this scale. All the styles (block, strip or 'individuals') look good on the table, though, so thumbs up for all that you do!

It's funny that these metal discs are cheaper than buying the same size of washer... and no hole in the middle. :) The weight is also helpful to keep the center of mass lower; stops them tipping over so easily.

So mini warmaster plays by the same rules except measurements cut in half. One stand equals a unit,but if a unit is 3 stands, how do you remove stands from the unit? Keep track with dice, I guess, or is there a different way. Also, I love your channel and report's I'm gladyou'rer still doing warmaster stuff
@OnTheGamingTable
@OnTheGamingTable 20 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question. There's kind of two ways of doing this. On the Warmaster FB group, there have been posts about 'Warmaster Skirmish' which is basically reducing all units from 3 stands to 1 stand, and then pretty much play as normal. For this 'Mini-Warmaster' idea, I used that idea of '1 unit = 1 stand' and also reduced all measurements to half, primarily to allow play on a smaller table. For casualties, just play it like normal Warmaster. Sor Dark Elf Spearmen are 3 wounds, and if they have this many at the end of a phase, they are removed. For balance, there's also a couple of other modifications for overall balance (based on testing so far) mentioned in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g33Kd6WMm5VrrLc If you like I can do a more complete writeup of these and share the document somewhere. (Still testing a few ideas in play)

Hmmm... Just realised the Warbands should have had +1 for support when there is another Warband directly behind them. I knew there was a reason I put them two deep :) That would have affected several results... so justification for a rematch sometime soon.

Thanks for posting. If you are printing for S&H, can I give a shout out to Project Wargaming, who produce a lovely range of 2mm figures (you can scale up) including hoplites and phalanxes for a very reasonab;le cost. These print up very well. Aaaron also has a great ACW and Napoleonic range as well Also if you do not have a 3d printer , go over to Wargame Vault and check out Geoff Currans S&H files. These are simple to make up from thick card and his overlays and are really effective - bonus no painting - by simply putting onto the 2FL unit cards.

Hi Tom :) Yes, mini-Warmaster is a lot like 'Warmaster Skirmish' that you can find on the WM FB page. But I took it in a bit of a different direction by halving all the distances to play in small space and altered some other rules to maintain some balance. I feel it's good for getting started with a smaller figure collection, maybe when someone is starting out with a new army. Anyway, we can have a game one day if you are keen :)

Thanks - the main purpose was about playing on a smaller table size. But yes, it can be fun to play a bit differently. I will say that mini-Warmaster is a little different experience to regular Warmaster Revolution. Everyone will have their own feelings about that. Planning to get some beasts and so on in soon, once I get some things printed off (waiting for more resin...)

Thanks, glad you liked it. The Hong Kong wargamers I know regularly play DBMM; there is a purely social location called 'Tiger Room' run by Lawrence that has mutliple DBMM games going on every week (often on weekdays, as a number of the players are retired or have flexible work schedules). I'll try to get more examples of their play up when my own work schedule allows :)

You will learn that area fire is very effective at forcing your opponent to pull chits to reactivate his units. It also is effective when direct fire is not (units hard to hit or spot). Thanks for posting.
@OnTheGamingTable
@OnTheGamingTable 3 ай бұрын
Thanks - I kinda understand that. I know area fire auto-pins if it's effective, whereas direct fire which causes casualties may cause pinning. Just seems the guys I played with always "go for the kill." :)
