One of the reasons given for the cancellation of this service was that it held up the commuter services operated by Northern Rail, due to it’s slow speed, it also broke down and failed due to slippery rails. The real solution was to run the service overnight, timing it so it was no where near any commuter services at busy lines.

I really enjoyed this, thank you. Shunting is always fascinating to me and it's what I most enjoy doing on my own railway. One question; once the train has left the down main does the loco run round for the final propel move or is it a second reverse? What's the sequence for loaded trains leaving the cement works? Thanks One new subscriber here!
@Ashworth-MediaАй бұрын
@@FeckHallBahn due to the direction the train arrives it diverts off the main line and onto the branch line, a little further up the branch behind some trees the locomotive runs around it train and then reverses the train into the cement works. This is the normal shunting movement for trains arriving, for loaded trains the locomotive will pull the train out of the cement works and depending upon which way the train is going it will either pull out onto the main line or used the run around loop to push the train out onto the mainline. Thanks for subscribing, I have had transport issues recently but that has now been resolved and I will be uploading more videos in 2025.
