I thought I'd treat you with the Haydn reference again...and you're catching up to him. Good work, again.

Dam, I just saw that I had an E flat in the basses. Thanks, Joe. Loving Haydn is not a job; it's an adventure!!

I love the way you incorporate your own originality within a classical framework. Your fluidity within these sinfonie, now 57, is remarkable.

I really like your scoring in this. Excellent use of the registers of the instruments. Modern counterpoint almost loop-like👍

Thanks, Jason! It does loop alot. I guess that's where the "minimally" comes from.

I really liked the theme and the sort of calm and ambiguous mood...reminds me a bit of Svendsen...There is an awful lot of repetition in it. I would have liked to see the idea developed with more freedom. The dynamic range is limited also and there isn't a genuine climax, plus with the constant repeats it feels as if things go round and round and doesn't take us much beyond where we started. I was puzzled by the stops with long pauses leading the listener to think a new movement is starting but it just begins again with the same thematic material.
@stevekudlo14647 ай бұрын
Thank you for your comments. I know the form is unfamiliar with you, and there are those that disagree with your analysis. Each movement is basically AABA, which is a popular music form, though obviously it is not popular in style. I wonder how you would appreciate popular music, you must find it boring. Seems to be a recurring theme as you can see. There are four movements, by the way, and it certainly is not the same material!
